Default preset help

Hey hey,

I'm just curious if I'm doing something wrong or it it's the expected behavior. I'm trying to get settings to apply by default to every video. For example, I know I can set sharpness to a value and then click the save icon next to the top preset in the list (I only have one in the list anyway) and it overwrites that.

The problem I have is the next video will not apply that sharpness preset by default. I have to go in and apply it by clicking that preset from the list. As soon as a video has had that applied, it will remember for next time, but I'd like to understand if there is a way to set presets that will just automatically apply for everything (previously played or not) unless you've specifically changed them for that video, and how to set that up, if that's possible.

First, make sure you're saving over the first preset in the group of settings, like for the sharpness setting, you'll need to click on the "Image" button, and then save over the first preset. Second, the default preset only gets applied to new videos, because old videos already have their own settings saved. If you've already loaded a bunch of videos into the media library without the settings you want, you can click on "Media Library" in the left side panel, then delete the media source to remove the all the saved videos settings for the source.

Ah ok. This makes perfect sense. Deleting the media source is what I'll need to do to get what I've set as default to be applied since all of those videos already have something else (from previous play throughs) assigned to them. Thank you for the help! I'm going to make sure I get all of my presents the way I like them before I do that though so I don't have to keep deleting the source on the left.

This did not seem to work for me on new videos.  Although in my case I deleted the default preset hoping to only have mine in the list.  It "shows" the values are set, although when I click to apply the image preset the colors and sharpness are obviously adjusted.

I am still trying to figure this out..  I set an rgb color to something extreme for testing on the default preset and saved it.

Open a new video (not previous one to make sure it isn't on the media library) and is on the old default color.  I click on the default preset dropdown and it sets to the extreme color change.  Repeat on a new video and back the previous default.

Is there some way I can troubleshoot this?

Seems like there is a bug with flat screen ("perspective" projection) videos not properly applying color settings when opened. Does your issue also occur when using equirectangular or fisheye projection?

Sorry for delay, traveling during the weekend.  If I set a video to equirectangular when it does not auto detect it will automatically apply the settings.  Although if I play a video that automatically starts in equirectangular then it will not apply the default.

I have to admit that the colors look great in equirectangular, so it never bothered me previously.  Now that I am messing with it a bit more perspective is the only one I see a saturation problem in.  I am mostly with a few tweaks using what was referenced in a year old thread's settings https://itch.io/t/2444688/color-management

It makes me wonder if the color settings/sharpness that is used from equirectangular can be applied to the perspective so would not even need to change the default.  Edit: Well I guess I do see some saturation on certain colors on vr videos also, but not as intense.  I would almost need a default per viewing mode, but that sounds like it would complicate the ui too much and more time on your part.  If the default is fixed I can just set the default based on if I am viewing vr vs perspective videos as I would not be popping around quickly.
