I'll start!

Jiyel Scholar #1: Thylane, pronounced Tea-Lawn. It's a French name that's actually an appropriation of a Vietnamese name. I thought it fit amongst names like Avalie and Lyon. This is the character I pair with Zarad.

Jiyel Scholar #2: Either Mei or Hana, I can't decide. This is the character I'm pairing with Emmett. I wanted a plant-themed name that sounds like it could be an English name.

Arland Princess: Grace. I don't think I need to explain this one.

Corval Courtier: Samara. It means "evening talks." I thought it was appropriate for someone romancing Gisette.

Revaire Widow: Jeanne, as in Jeanne du Barry. Another possibility was Eugenie, after the final Empress of France.

So far I have:

Lifen (Jiyel Scholar), Chinese name meaning 'beautiful fragrance', because she's a botanist who is going to romance Emmett

Isabeau (Revaire Widow), named for the character in Ladyhawke

Amalthea (Wellin Countess), named for the Last Unicorn, romancing Lyon for the sake of a 'the lion and the unicorn' joke

Melisende (Arland Princess), chose it as an Old Norman name that would fit very well with 'Constance' and nicknames to 'Mellie', which I thought was adorable

Salem of Hise, which means peaceful, complete. She's meant to be my "perfect ending" character so the meanings reflect that. I also like the dissonance of her name having a positive meaning while simultaneously possessing a chaotic connotation in the context of our own history. It reflects her character, as no one expects a wild woman of the sea to rise up and take Katiya's torch ( and kidnap Jasper at the end of everything, in my headcanon LOL).

Clarity of Arland, which means exactly what it says. Clara to her her friends. Ye ole virtue names. I wanted one that matched Constance, but it also reflects her arc of becoming more mature, and seeing the world and herself with clarity by the end of the summit. She no longer needs other people to tell her what's right from wrong or how to live her life, with her own eyes finally open.

Aimée of Revaire, which means beloved. The opposite of what she has been all her life. As a recent widow originally from a poor and distant family, she's someone who has told herself she doesn't need love as it is not conducive to survival, but deep down it's what she desires most. She resents her name and herself for wishing she could live up to it.

These have always been the backgrounds i have been the most partial to, so i don't really have solid characters created for the others.

Edit: Now with relatively accurate pictures

I love Clarity! It's pretty, and the meaning is so thoughtful.

Thank you! Naming characters is one of my favorite parts of creating one, since I love the poetry of finding a name that really reflects a significant aspect of who they are or who they will grow to become.

I'm also partial to Widow MC. I love your description of Aimee. I'm playing her kinda similar where she comes to the island not expecting to find love, just trying to climb her way to the top but then ends up falling in love lol I'm thinking she'll romance Clarmont. I'm still figuring out what dynamics I want with her romance though. Curious who she pursues in your playthrough and your reasoning?

Aimee ended up with Clarmont, actually! I think she really liked that he found her independence an attractive quality, firstly. His noble nature slowly inspired her to be more compassionate, whereas before that she was mostly selfish. I played Aimee as a neutral character that slowly becomes more empathetic, and although Clarmont played a role in that, it was Imogen being framed for murder that was the biggest trigger for her. She didn't kill her husband but everyone who knew her in Revaire treated her like she did and watching an innocent girl get pinned for a murder she didn't commit motivated Aimee to fight for her, since she never had anyone on her own side when her husband died. And at first she approached Clarmont because she figured being with a minor Lord with court approval was a good option; he wasn't so powerful that she would stand out being his wife, but powerful enough and with significant connections that she knew she would live comfortably. She also wasn't particularly interested in leaving Revaire because her siblings depended on her more than their parents and she didn't want to be too far from them.

So, when Aimee told the Matchmaker that she would pursue Clarmont it was out of practicality more than anything, although she was developing feelings for him too. She played those feelings up to be more than they were at that point, but soon enough they became sincere as she realized his support and faith in her was unconditional. The more she uncovered about who he really was the more she admired him, and the more she came to realize that her country desperately needed to change. Not just for her own sake, but for her siblings as well, especially after receiving the letter from her sister. She didn't want any of them to have to live a life like hers. So eventually she concluded that the best way to protect them was to be an active agent in Revaire politics alongside Clarmont. And it worked! She achieved the legendary peace and lived happily ever after :)

All their art is gorgeous wow! Also their names are lovely!

Thank you!! I just realized I forgot to link the art thing, so here you go! Go crazy making your own MC portraits. It was also linked in another post below.

wow, thank you! I will do that. And maybe share a bit more as I get further in my playthroughs. :)

Irene is my Widow, she's an OC I've had for a while in other universes and she just fit that background perfectly, so I moved her over ^^ She is demi/ace and married Lisle while having an affair with Woodly for calculated reasons.

My sheltered princess I named Felicity, she has more luck than skills at the start and it felt apt. ^^ She romanced Zarad and freed her sister from his brother.

Blair is my Tomboy Countess who is a little anti-social and very smart and practical. She romanced Lyon.

My Jyjel lady is called Minerva. She will be on the observation path and romance Jasper.

Tempest is my pirate lady, and I am not sure yet who she will fall in love yet. Maybe Ana or Emmett.

And Anastasia is my slightly immoral Corval MC, she politically married Jarrod and actually got along with him and romanced Gisette and is now in a it's complicated with them both.

I haven't planned much for the secret backgorunds yet bc they will take some time but current thoughts are Raven for my rebel leader, Vesper for the player of the grand game and Beatrix for the secret historian.

I also made the first six in a picrew that I found fitting, in order:

Irene, Felicity, Blair
Minerva, Tempest, Anastasia

If anyone wants the picrew, it's here

Oooooh, TEMPEST!!! Love that! Now i wanna update my post with portraits like these lol

Eee, I also named a sheltered princess Felicity! Such a good name to pair with Constance, yes :D

My MCs so far (I'm meditating on names to give my Rebel, Historian and Weaver MCs);

Yasmin is my Corval Lady, and is a rarity for the court she hails from as she is highly noble, compassionate, moral (and ambitious, but that's not out of the norm for the Corval court) and I consider her my canon MC for the game. I tried the 'blackmail Aamir' option first but it wasn't satisfying in any way, so ultimately she decides to get her hands dirty once and has him assassinated for the good of everyone. She romances Jasper, and I'm fighting for my life trying to figure out how to get the Wellin/Skalt (have only gotten and can't get higher than green)  and Corval/Hise legendary endings to get all four for the Jasper Best Ending Epilogue. In anycase, she thrives with helping to continue the peace between the seven kingdoms during her own summit and beyond, successfully continuing Katyia's Legacy. They end up having two kids in the future (Aster Anwar [son] and Lily Lamia [daughter] are twins, and both names are references to the Stardust Lillies. Aster and Lily are self explanatory, but Anwar [meaning bright/luminous] and Lamia [meaning shining/radiance] are their "public" names. Meaning that's what they go by when Yasmin sends letters home [whether they are for her mother, or Zarad or Avalie both of whom she befriended at the summit, etc. you get the point, And also when the three of them go to Corval to visit. Aster and Lily are only used on the Isle.) Aside from husband Jasper and their future children (and her mom of course), she has friends she loves  from every kingdom and has charmed all the delegate romances (aside from Gisette and Jarrod and I don't count Lisle since he's gay), but she also adores her girl gang (Penelope, Cordelia and Avalie.) Sisterhood for life!!!

(The only thing here that's not close is that her style is different, and she favours wearing purple most of the time.)

Grace is my Arland Princess romancing Lyon, and although she's good and kind she does work with Zarad to assassinate Aamir to free her sister from their marriage and is ecstatic when Constance comes to live with her in Jiyel. She's truly living her best life at the end, getting to see her sister every day, landing a kind and loving (and handsome but that's secondary) husband that loves her for who she truly is and values and encourages her thirst for knowledge and other new interests. I also headcanon that she and Lyon end up having like 4-6 kids because they are Obsessed With Each Other TM and on god they're going to build the warm happy family they've both always wanted. And that Constance teases the hell out of them for this (in a very polite way, of course) and ends up as the busiest auntie of the century lmao.

(This is pretty close to how she looks except she wears her curls down, and her eyes are actually pink like her lipstick, or like cherry blossoms.)

Esmeralda is my main Hise MC who romances Zarad. Her falling for him was completely unexpected and very much by accident which was mostly instigated by her massive curiousity and love of banter (and a good mystery.) So she really SHOULD have known her feelings were coming, but she didn't. Plus all her previous relationship were much simpler but then again, that's why they ended because they became predictable. For example, if everyday is an adventure, nothing really is, etc. And the people she dated before were much less complex and for some that's not a bad thing...but suffice it to say, to someone like her Zarad is really the gift that keeps on giving (though she would never EVER say that out loud to him or anyone since he'd be SO smug about it.) So she never gets bored or tired of him, and only finds more reasons to love him over all the years they spend together. Despite all this, she's actually much more level-headed than you'd think and against her own expectations (but not Zarad's) to her own surprise she not only survives Corval, but thrives as well. Though she always have a streak of wanderlust, and her moments of being half serious of 'Shall I kidnap you today my love? Shall we sail away around the world and never return?' 'Alas my Star, as always your offers tempt me so, but the only time I could never look back, and move forward with a clear conscious is when I retire.' or something to that affect lol. Unfortunately for both of them, that's going to happen later rather than sooner since there's no option to have Zarad's eldest brother offed on this route. But the other bright side is that Esmeralda and Sina adore each other and end up as thick as thieves.

Vanessa is my Widow MC who despite being a very adept social climber is actually extremely introverted, and hates every second she has to stay out after her social battery runs out. (But she sucks it up, first as a model eldest-daughter and secondly, later on, to help the rebuilding of Revaire.) She did not murder her husband, and she didn't mourn him (publicly or otherwise), and she didn't enter her marriage bed with him either. So while she will always be grateful to him for marrying her so she could support her siblings, she never had any particular affection for him either. So her mixed reputation is deserved. And while I will be using her to marry Lisle from the earliest point she can (approved by the Matchmaker instead of pursuing him later on) to get his (and Woodley's??? if I can get both) stat boosts; her plans to marry high up for the sake of her siblings falls apart when Clarmont brings out a softer side of her, and they end up falling for each other. (Clarmont is her canon romance.) After marrying him, she'd have to give up her barony in its entirety so she has even less to help support her siblings than what she'd started the summit with - but between Clarmont's close ties to Queen Sayra, her own talents, and her sister Emmaline's hard work, soon enough they can support all of her siblings and warmly welcome them to live with her and Clarmont. After the business of raising her younger siblings, her and Clarmont end up having only one blood child, a daughter named after his own younger sister though Elspeth is her middle name (I haven't figured out a first name yet.)

Annabelle is my Wellin Countess MC who very much has a chaotic mix of golden retriever and orange cat energy. However, despite that she was able to successfully expose her hater-slanderer and avoid being kicked off the isle in disgrace. She has never harmed anyone in her life!!!!! She is innocent your honour!!!! Swings back and forth between 'I'm having so much fun! This is a new adventure!!' And 'get me outta hereeeee there's politics and murder in this joint." Extremely blunt, but makes up for it with her charismatic ways and pretty privilege. She romances Hamin and Anaele on different playthroughs. Leaning towards Hamin as being the canon romance of the two though (sorry Ana.)

Jienne is my Jiyel Scholar MC who romances Emmett. It's an unusual match of very different personalities that neither of them anticipated, but they make it work. (Although, the first time I attempted this pairing I actually didn't get enough romance points to start with so Emmett broke up with her with no chance of changing his mind lol. So I went back part way and second time was the charm.) To begin with, when going to the summit she didn't have any hopes or expectations going into it because A. her having been picked to go last minute B. being rather indifferent to romance, because it's something that she'd never experienced before - herself or witnessing it in other people close to her. So she was kind of like 'whatever happens, happens - I'll just focus on diplomacy as best I can.' Then all of a sudden there's sunshine Emmett who's kind, intelligent in his own right and genuinely listens to everything she says with enthusiasm in a way that's different from her peers and she's just like '...what is this?? Am I...Feeling?!?!??!!?!???'

(Her hair is actually pine green and her eyes are supposed to be the same colour as her lipstick.)

A few of my favourites:

My OG, my favourite, my real one, my most canon of all: Lady Aza Lee (Aza) of Corval, ethical schemer beloved by everybody, who found huge relief and her best life in marrying Lisle. Her own sexuality is somewhere between aroace and a big damn shrug, so the question is whether she will participate or just watch when she arranges for her excellent friend and partner in crime Zarad to visit her and her husband, but that is definitely happening the instant Lisle slips. He is all at once terrified, in awe, and so grateful of her power.

In another life, the marriage is still a great friendship, but the lady is having an extremely romantic affair with a certain Grand Duke. Convenient for everyone!

Alestes (Al) of Hise, loud and bright and charismatic but absolute idiot with zero people-savviness who won her place in a drinking contest and had no idea what the heck was going on at any point. She was such a disaster that she failed to figure out what happened to her mother, and even, horrifyingly, failed to save Imogen. Somehow, a devastated Ria still agreed to being kidnapped, so this charming moron got her gay happy ever after anyway. (Her name is a reference to Rusty Quill's queer anti-colonialist pirate podcast Trice Forgotten!)

Countess Andromaque (Andy) of Wellin, who I thought was going to be a bit of a boor but ended up surprisingly much more academically & emotionally intelligent (she even befriended Lyon and got him involved!), eloquent and insightful than I planned, and married Hamin, to the surprise of no one back home apparently. Was delighted to find out this was a bi4bi affair. (In another life, Hamin broke up with her when she refused to leave with him and abandon her people. A very strong and practical character with no time for subtle manipulations.)

Lady Ianthe of Revaire, gleeful immoral and manipulative little [BLEEP] who got close to Clarmont then romanced Gisette, happily betrayed the rebels to her, and ruled Revaire with her husband and girlfriend. Happy ever after for them and them only! (Yes, based on The Locked Tomb's Ianthe Tridentarius. I needed a character to channel in order to be that awful.)

Lady Vivienne (Vivi) of Revaire, who made up for that by romancing & marrying Clarmont and fixing Revaire (and did a p good job at the rest of the world as well, with the help of Avalie). Also very manipulative, but mostly ethical! ... in this life, at least. In another life she did a lot of murder and also betrayed Clarmont while engaged to him. I just wanted to see what happened okay.

In another life, she had a shockingly earnest and cute romance with Gisette, and secured a lovely happy ending for the two of them with Gisette royal advisor to a pacified Revaire.

Azira (Zira) of Corval, the people-savvy prodigy who cheerfully drove Lyon mad; not as much of a nerd as he is, but very smart, eloquent and stubborn and very very teasing. A big point of their marriage is that she takes the lead when social events and politics need to be done while her husband stays at home reading happily. She was also a terror in Corval, out-blackmailing her blackmailer, befriending both Zarad and Avalie, and managing to find All the secrets ever.

Lady Mei Lian (Xiao Lian) of Jiyel, asexual and autistic history & plants nerd who bonded with Emmett over nerdery, refused to accept the illogical and untrue things he believed about himself (I think she called his dad something very rude), and is having a grand time getting really invested in the logistics of running their earldom (especially the imported crops). Unsurprisingly, she also befriended Lyon, and to a lesser degree Avalie, though Lian's complete and utter lack of interest in people and their schemes and games was apparently disappointing.

Princess Clémence (Clém) of Arland, who managed to both serve her kingdom and find her freedom in marrying Ana in the absolute cutest romance ever. She was a very proper princess totally out of depth in terms of plot and people-skill, but she tried hard and managed to grow in her small ways (including learning self-defense!) and I'm so proud of my little femme lesbian who dances around the campfire with her strong wife who loves her so much. She was very interested in Skalt's culture and nature and became a teacher there!

And finally, the much more insightful and capable Princess Verity (also Vivi) of Arland, who said [BLEEP] to her family and (with the help of all other NG+ bonuses and very VERY careful planning) upheld Katiya's Legacy with Jasper. ✌️
