I'm stuck...

I didn't plan to make this post, but it's been months and I realize that my game is totally stuck, and I need a little help.

Possibly I'm doing something wrong, but my game only got a lot of views the first few days I published the game, but after that, the game stagnated terribly, they recommended that I just keep updating, and that, over time, you would get a lot of views... but After two updates, the visits have not changed.

And I have also noticed that other games similar to mine were published on a similar date to the time I published my game, and they have had amazing growth, which tells me that there is something I am not doing right... Maybe I need to do a advertising campaign here to grow the game? Do I have to pay for my game to have visibility? Is there some secret trick that I don't know about?

By the way, my game is for adults, and I understand that it cannot be displayed as a normal game, but still there are many adult games here on Itch.io that have very high growth, and it honestly seems impossible to me from my point of view. view.

Hi. Your mistake, and the one that many people make, is thinking that Itch generates a lot of visibility. Itch is a terrific place for developers, but it doesn't have as much player movement VS the number of developers and games that are published every day.

If your game is good and you make updates, little by little you will build an audience, but this is a slow process and a few months is not enough time to generate a large community, especially if you have not promoted yourself in any other way.

If you want your game to have more reach, you must advertise it and not only within Itch, if not, go out and find your target audience.

Paying for advertising is not a bad option, but you have to do it smartly, otherwise you will be burning money.

There are games that have been programmed by people who have been programming for years and have built a community on various social networks, so you cannot compare yourself with them.

Just because a large audience would see your game, does not translate to a large audience playing your game. You have rather nieche topics. Worse. You do not go full nieche, but are inbetween. I do not know how your game play is, but that is my two cents about your game's appeal.

It is like making a clown game, but the clowns only have a red nose. It won't appeal to people disliking clowns, and clown enthusiasts will complain about the lack of big shoes, green wigs, and makeup. Of course there are people that like a little bit of clowning, but in my opinion those are fewer than the other two groups.

But looking at your patreon numbers and follower count, you are doing quite well for an itch game with what looks like ai created art (it does not matter how you really create those. It looks ai at first glance and people do not bother to watch any videos or explanations how it might not be the usual ai).

You might have done worse by trying to appeal to the two larger groups - there are just so many games

All it tells you is that your game and their game are not the same. Please make sure you read the rules of this board, your title is low quality.

There’s already some advice in here for you, I’m going to close this topic.
