how can more people download than what I get views on that day?

so I just checked my games analytics and I got 33 downloads in one day and only 12 views on that day. on the next day the same 32 downloads and only 11 views and today 10 downloads and 6 views

how is this possible I understand that if you redownload the game more than once but at this amount I'm not sure what is happening

My assumption would be that gathering pure download data is easier than view data.
Since this is to do with how the site collects analytics,; I think you would get a better answer if you posted in "community->itch.io->questions and support"
I'd recommend adding your time zone and a link to the game (I have nothing to do with the site, but that makes sense to me).
Happy to hear you got 33 downloads in a day though. 4 downloads is a big day for me.
Best of luck.

It might be from retrying failed downloads.

I understand that but. but I thought it would be more like 2 or 3 more downloads not like 30. and today I checked the stats and I have 68 downloads and only 15 views on one day

There are a couple reasons why you might see more downloads then views, the most common case is users who download the game without viewing your page. This can happen in a number of ways, here are some examples:

  1. downloading through the app
  2. downloading directly from a download key or purchase page
  3. downloading on a jam entry submission page

the only one that it could be is if they downloaded through the app
