My MacBook Pro won't run the game I downloaded.  I get the above error message and no info or options.  any ideas would be appreciated!

Url of itch game? details and if it is a webgl 2, than try to get use updated: mozilla firefox, or chrome browser. if ends with .exe than you need bootcamp on i7/i9 cpu, to run windows games, there are alternative virtual machines like parallels, where a windows is applayed and pass through your gpu. (intel compatible not arm, to emulate for most windows games .exe ; sometimes needs to look in folder bin )

Thanks a lot for your detailed response and suggestions!  Unfortunately you speak a language I do not.  I don’t know if you can be more specific or give me advice that would make sense to me or not.  My nephew helped make a game called MILO, and I have downloaded the file to my Macnbook pro but it won’t run, as I said above.  I tried getting the itch app, but the game is mysteriously unfindable on the itch app, so I’m back to the download file from the website, refusing to work.  Perhaps my computer illiteracy is insurmountable, but if there’s anything else you can offer I’d love to hear it!

(1 edit)

there are big changes in mac with m1 m2 m3 and older mac apps does not work on new architecture! you need to know the difference, intel compatible macbook pro i7 or i9 where intel+cpu mac apps did run. i can understand you, but some developers make apps, without detail info about what architecture of mac.

Do you have to different macs, one app does not run in the other mac? therefor use publish to WEBGL its compatible for both, to have webgl2 get updated: install browser chrome, mozilla firefox, opera.

Unity has a package that needs to be installed in UnityHub to have the feature Publish to WEBGL.

Thanks for trying to solve my problems.   Finally worked something out, which I will leave in an other comment.

Solved!  Although MILO can only be played on the itch app, it cannot be FOUND on the itch app.  The solution was to find it on the website, copy the url, then paste it into the app search bar on my Mac.  Now it works and it's fun!  Hope this helps others.
