Hi I have a question regarding the scroll text:

I have a text (S) at the beginning of the game that basically narrates the plot of the game and is a Text (S) that scrolls itself up on the middle of the screen. Looks like the plugins is not looking at this text or I am missing something.  Let me know how to fix this, thanks!

Do you mean the plugin doesn't localize the scroll text? Or it doesn't extract scroll text?

Edit: Ah I've found the issue, a fix is coming soon.

Hi, please update to version 1.2.4. The Scroll Text is fixed now for both MV and MZ. <3

You also should see all scroll text messages are extracted to the translation file.

Hi, I just tried again, I noticed that indeed the scroll text was extracted but there are 2 bugs that are still present.

1. The text now is long enough to be cut put by the background

2. The text that follow after the scroll text is getting superimposed with it.

I think I can edit my scroll text so it wont get cut out now with the plugin but for the text that comes after I will try a blank text then the actual text to see if that resolve the issue.

Hi, what do you mean by "The text now is long enough to be cut put by the background"? Can you capture for me a screenshot?

I tested the plugin again and the scroll text still work fine on my device. Did you use any additional plugins relate to message or scroll text?

Thank you for the screenshots. Can you try this for me and tell me the result?

Try turn off the plugin and increase the font size in the database. Does it crop the text still?

It did cut now, my font was on 26 and I increased to 28 and is it being cut at the same place. I just noticed that the font size I choose for the plugin was 28 also. This most probably is the cause.

Hi, the scroll text is now on the .csv file but it wont grab the translation notes like the rest of the texts.

You mean the crop issue we had earlier?

Unfortunately that's not related to the plugin. In RPG Maker, if you have too much words on a line, it'll stay on that line instead of automatically break the line to multiple lines. 

My plugin is only to translate text. If you want lines to break automatically, you gotta find an autowarp plugin.

One simple way to deal with this without an autowrap plugin is simply breakline manually and don't let a line to be too long.

No, I meant that it is not translating.

That's odd. Can you tell me:

1. The engine that you're using. Is it MV or MZ?

2. Can you show me the whole line inside CSV file?

3. Also the screenshot of plugins you're using.

Sure give me like 10 minutes and Il show you the screenshoots.

To answer your questions:

1. I am using MZ

2. The CSV file is huge with over 1730 lines, I can take multiple screenshots of it. The only one that is not being translates is the Text (s) atm.




Line 444 is the Text (S): it is not being translated, the next line (445) is a normal Text line and it is being properly translated as the rest of the file. Only the Text (S) is not.

3. As for the plugins I have tried turning them all off except for yours and I get the same result.


I removed the VisuMZ_1_OptionCore to allow the normal options to appear and be able to choose between languages and it works.

So I have this theory, it still translates, but the VisuMZ Option disabled the option to switch between languages, therefore you were stuck at the original language. Turning VisuMZ Option off enables the option again and now you can switch between languages and you can see it's translated.

If this is the case, the localization plugin doesn't have any issue, it's due to VisuMZ Option hiding the option for you to change languages. I can't make a compatible patch for VisuMZ Option because they obfuscated their code, but there's another way around this, which is to enable the plugin parameter Add Command To Title. Turn it to true, and players can change language via Scene Title instead. Tell me if it works.

Hi, as I mentioned above, even when I turn off all other plugins and only leave the one you made, I get the same results. I can see all the translations work except for the scroll text. That VisuMZ Option is always disabled on my end since it does mess with the translation option to turn them on and off, so I am not using it.

Even with all the other plugins tuned on I still get all the translation Except for the Scroll text, that is the only one I am having issues right now.

Hmm, I've just tested it on my side and it's still translating. Can you do this for me:
1. Create a new scroll text message (just for testing purpose). Write whatever you want in it.

2. Extract the text to CSV file

3. Don't touch the Original column, just write whatever you want to the rightful language columns

4. Playtest

I have tried with  new scroll text and it did work.

After testing again, I went to the scroll text  and copied it and pasted it making it appear twice, went to the CSV translated both and started the game. Now I see both scroll text being translated so I went back into the edit deleted the first one created a new csv file and all is good.


I really don't know what happened but opening that scroll text file in the game and editing it kind of worked.

Thanks for all the help. I will continue translating the 1000 rows I have left and run the whole protect to see if all works out but this might take some time.

I'm glad it worked after all. My theory is you modified either in-editor text or content from the Original column, probably accidentally adding an extra space, maybe? Therefore, the plugin couldn't find they're the same text, so it didn't translate. 

Basically, the message inside the Original column has not to be touched. :D

Hello again, I have another question, this time it is not related to the scroll text.

I have multiple endings on my game and some other thing that triggers a game over. I noticed that when I trigger a game over and then load from where I was before the game over, and choose another option instead of the one that triggers the game over, the not translated text start as if I choose the game over in the new instance and then it continues. When I turned off the plugin this didn't happen.

Also when a fight ends and I speak with someone after, the you were victorious and the exp plus lvl obtained will appear in the new conversation.

After each battle the text describing the battle result won't appear and it will stack until a text is forced like for example, a save point, talking to a npc, or interacting with anything that will create a text file, then the battle result will appear all at once pushing all the other text until it finish the battle result. Then the text will appear but not translated and using the original text.
