Food help

Hi, I just started playing on Doom Difficulty. It's really hard and fun. My biggest problem in Doom mode is that food spoils so fast and I can't play without at least 10 Sur points for smoked meat. I want to know how you guys survive in Doom mode with 0 Sur stats?

I would like to know because I'm planning to play without  Sur at all.

Don't have solution for early game to be honest. Just struggle I guess. Leather, aka Hunter's aka Survival armor set gives you 11 survival status points, not traits. It will increase food spawn rate, but you will not receive access to crafting. So like... farm rabbits and cook generic meat soup.

Me personally right now is level 70 abomination. Never cook a single meal. In cities just sleep inside Inn. In wilds kill and "eat" anything that moving.

  • Bloodlust + Bloody Mess - every kill gives you 3 food
  • Desecrate - eat corpse and heals HP and Stamina

When you are traveling there will be always monster/bandits  free food, that will comes to you

Without SURV points? But this is not so fun... Why?
Doom difficulty same as Hell... but moooore boring... I played 5-6 hours with Doom make 50 lvl... and this was like -> (You can't open menu = u die) or - (Your autosave is broken = go to another new run because of softlock). Doom is really stupid thing in LonaRPG because of ton game bugs or like... (you can't swap two-handed and one-handed weapon without menu inventory = u die) things...

So... u need just a lot of food? Yeah? Only what u need is 10 SURV points + Hunter Set and you can make a lot of food.

1) Bandits are broken at start so... just run if u can.
2) LvL up only SURV at start because food is very annoing thing and waste ure time a lot.
3) Take clear abomination mines quest make some gold and EXP (Use forrest near abomintaion mines for food)
4) Go to fish island at night (Because shops work only In the morning) and buy full hunter set.
5) Back to the main City and buy new weapons (Bow and Halberd is really good because of safe range and big damage).
6)  Go to the Goblin Tower when your lvl 15-20.
7) Take dead boar and wolfs meat in Goblin Tower and save all womens (repeat 5-10 times).
8) After all... just leave and go to the nearest forest near Goblin Tower.
9) Make bonfire, chop 1 extra wood, put 1 wood and all meat what u have in bonfire (BTW need 10 SURV points).

End -> U have many meat food which does not spoil and for everyone you saved you will receive a reward - money and EXP at the tavern.

I think you should read my post again. I already know how strong SUR's stats are. That's why I tried to play without SUR.

Welp... then you won't have GOOD food then anyway without 10 SURV points.
I've played probably about 1000 hours on the Hell difficulty and this is why i tell you Doom same as Hell but without normal save...
You're gonna have to get yourself 10 SURV points anyway because this SURV stat is game a mechanic core for usual FUN.
U can't really fun to play in LonaRPG without SURV points because then you'll spend all your time running to the woods and shopping for food.
That's why I said that the only option in your case to get a lot of GOOD food and money is take corpse animals and rescue women in the goblin tower because without it it's really boring...
- - -
I already tried and realized how u can play without SURV stat... and the only option in your case for a lot of food is to play as a mage through pessimism because you'll be cannibalizing and eating people, goblin, fishmen, abomination meat which almost everywhere but keep in mind mages are the strongest class right now in LonaRPG because of lighting skill... so, uh... do you need this gameplay if you want hardcore? A sad canibal mage? You'll probably have to forget about good reputation because you'll have to kill civilians just to eat because there's no food without SURV points... and if you go to Abomination Forest then you'll be running around sick and gastritis all the time because you don't have smoked meat or medicinal herb. This is the kind of gameplay you want? Go~

Actually... there's one dumbest way to get a bunch of smoked sausages 10-20-30 but then you'd be wasting a lot of time.
1) Go to Noer tavern.
2) Stay near stairs.
3) Throw a rock at the second person behind the bar [You]---[№1]--->[№2 Your target]
4) Run up the stairs and wait for Big Mommy to start hitting him.
5) Go down the stairs and try to huddle people in a corner which Big Mom try to hit.
End = free sausages and money.
(This method is so broken that you can even save up a lot of money for a ship and sail away this way at start at the first day).

But like I said before without survival points there's not much fun to be had because of run out of food.

When playing Doom Mode, I find it more enjoyable as a challenging "Exploration Mode" after at least knowing:

1. Avoiding combat/ stunning enemy. Scout first and fight only when required.

2. The surroundings of your safe place like camp or town (easy, just go out with a soup bowl and a blue soda potion then return by night, also counts the ration you need for 2 days - 1 night)

Then make preparations by doing these:

- Recruit NPCs, stock up dry food, 2 bowls of good ol soup for the 1st day traveling, 1 blue potion for emergency. And remember to go back to your safe place when your food is almost run out (enough for 2 days - 1night).

- Use least stamina as possible, and have NPCs check ahead if they are in the party. Stop by forest/ field when you have the chance then pick up fruit. End your first day with a good soup.

- If the quest was harder than you thought and you need to replenish stamina,  drink the emergency blue potion instead of resting. You should have 2-days ration to keep you going enough to reach somewhere for food

The main point of surviving Doom Mode with least Surv point is either to get 30+ dry food (which is tedious imo), or use the least amount of stamina as possible (escape/stealth/stun) then return if food ration can only help you get by till the next day. That +1 blue potion to keep you safe in unexpected events.

"Exploration Mode"? but that's all the starting gameplay on Doom difficulty because you can't fight normally at the start and just running away and make some food to survive.  Just... am... doing the same thing you do 80% of the time? What's the point?

I thought the topic was to help food problem in Doom Mode without using much point in SURV stat, so the safest way I can think of that isn't rely much on boring long-grind is: Return to the Inn/ Town. To do that you need to Manage Stamina + Surveying Map (Stealth Stun also helps). Also remember to take multiple quest while traveling

As for fights in Doom Mode? Don't bother as hit and getting hit cost more stamina, just run or bomb them and take their food if they ever drop.

Thank you all for your comments.

My previous message may have caused some misunderstandings since I'm not a native English speaker. When I mentioned 'starting to play Doom,' I meant that I'm playing with self-imposed challenges, such as no companions, no stealth, or no potions. I have around 100-ish hour of playtime in this game, and I enjoy playing it in very challenging ways.

I recently noticed that regardless of my build, I always end up relying too heavily on SUR stats. Therefore, I'm trying to play without investing any points in Survival to increase the challenge. The game has become extremely difficult, exactly as I hoped for, and I just curious to know if anyone has found ways to successfully play without putting any points into Survival at all.

Thanks again for all the answers!
I will try rebirthing into an Abom and attempt this challenge again.
but TBH though, I don't like Abomination as much as Moot because I'm too lazy to deal with the sickly/sick status effects.

I'm not a native English speaker too... and? I'm still speaking in ENG so everyone can understand.

Anyway i still don't understand your challenge because you can easily open Timid Lona at lvl 2 = 5 extra SURV... and buy a Hunter set which gives you another 11 SURV = 16 SURV without investing any LvL points to SURV stat + you can easy survive with cannibalism + you can easily eat at Woodson Family house (I've played this way before... and it was really boring... If you like it... okay. It's your personal choice... Maybe i can't understand you because after 1000+ hours of gameplay on Hell difficulty all your chalenges turn into a usual routine which i did it all the time... hmm... maybe).

BTW - the most interesting challange I've ever done was killing a Dicc the Impaler less than a week (He can be killed in three days).

Hm... sick effect?
If you want to take Abom race very-very-very-veryyyy fast on Hell/Doom just eat a lot of Mutated Mushroom there's a 5% chance you'll get SB status that will help you reborn faster.
10 SB stacks = can birth at 2-3 days even on Doom... and then just go to the secret Elise basement at night and find a little Abomination = easy.
Make it 2 times and you'll get access to Abom race - if you're lucky = 4 days... if not... well... maybe ten. That so.

BTW - it's the same for Moot and Deepone race too but it's a lot easier.

but if you're talking about a race specifics like SICK status - it's really easy to take it off.
Abom race one of the OP race in the whole game because you don't really need food so much + extra 8 ATK bonus from start + you can remove negative statuses by eating the flesh of a dead creature (SICK status) which makes it possible to eat almost any food without consequence.

Like I said before - the Doom difficulty is a total show-off because it's the same thing as Hell difficulty.
Nothing special about Doom - Doom difficulty need rework (IMHO).

That's my point - it's not about SUR. It's about smoked meat. I can't survive or manage without it.
Could you explain more about eating at the Woodson Family house? I haven't done anything with that quest except kill them.

(+1)

Welp... you can survive without smoked meat... but... ammm? I mean you still can make good, meat, vegetable soups or eating some other... am... bad things like human/goblin/abomination meat or even dirt... mhm... you can survive without 10 SURV stat just making other things or buying soups at the tavern guy or buying some bread/smoked meat/sausages/cheese into travel shop and do pretty much the same thing just spend more time doing it without SURV stat... amm... and the only place what i hate without 10 SURV stat is Abomination Land because without smoked meat it's very easy to get poisoned as well as losing all your MOOD stat... and if you try to cure yourself very often that could turn you into an medicinal herb addict which will only make things worse because there are no medicinal herbs in this place so you'll have to eat mutant mushrooms and parasite plants... and eating mutant mushrooms is problematic because you'll constantly make milk which will waste your stamina + stun in battles sometimes... soooo...

In short - Abomination Land is pain in the ass without 10 SURV stat sometimes...

About Woodson Family house -> If you don't kill them you can eat there for free all the time = 100% free good food (Don't answer the second dialog and just walk away).

- - - - And about the food search in general i realized some good things - - - -

1) Tropical Forest and Mountains is the best things for food + herbs (Boars are more common in mountains and tropical forests + Banana Trees and Apple Trees).

2) Swamps and Wild Forests are more often not so good because they are wasting your food and time especially if you don't have SURV stat at all (Wolves almost never drop much meat or they're not there at all... Still laughing when one wolf drops 1 meat but you tried to kill this wolf for 15-20 seconds and because of which you essentially lost more stamina than you gained by good soup. Thank you LonaRPG random).

3) Field, Beach and Swamp Forest are only very useful or if you have some vegetables or 10 SURV stat... (Because it's pretty easy to make smoked meat there... BUT don't forget there are no trees in the field so you should always go there with 2 pieces of wood or you won't be able to cook any).

4) There's also places like the Goblin Tower or the Deepones's Lairs where food often appears or even 100% without any SURV stat like dead animal corpses or pile of fish that you can pick up off the ground and get 5 meat just like in the Noer Arena (If there's a refugee camp nearby you can buy vegetables and make lots of good soup even without SURV stat... buuuuut... it's random thing... welp... yea... good luck).

5) Abomination Land actually like upgraded fields where a lot of food if you've got a bag full of medicinal herbs because all monsters are food and herbs save you from all negative effects (In general it is better at first eat a lot of food to 100% and then just drink a blue potion that will cure all diseases).

6) Some people don't know but practically some wood weapons can be used to smoke meat or dry food (Spear/Pitchfork/Sickle and even Bow and some others).

7) And in some places you can kill people with impunity and food drop out of them too (For example - Miners in a crystal mine).

8) You can also provoke 2-3-4 people to fight to the death just for food (Same way like - throw a rock at the second person behind the bar [You]---[№1]--->[№2 Your target] at Big Mom tavern).

There are plenty of ways but the important thing is to moderate because two or three mistakes could go wrong and you will die~
