Once the game loads to the main menu: the background is animated for about a second and then stops with the music still playing. I click anywhere and this comes up.

Glad i'm not the only one, no one said anything when I pointed this out from the experimental download. Had hoped that they would just take note and fix it for this update.

I was able to fix the freezing by deleting the games files in AppData\Roaming\Strive for Power 2. You will need to search %AppData%

Is this before you launch the game in the folder or after by getting into the control panne?

Clearly something is going wrong here, it's nothing but Script Error: for lengths on end.

This is not a wide-spread issue. Are you using any mods? Most of the older mods don't work with the current version. Do you use a porteait pacj?

i play vanilla and i have this problem also

I also play vanilla, but I am using an older (about 10 years), premade PC.

Another vanilla player here. Nothing extra, just downloaded the 64zip, extracted and tried to play

Look at the log files. Generally there is an initial error that causes cascading errors, Find that initial error. The log files for Windows is found at appdata/roaming/strive for power2/ logs. You can also try deleting the Progress and Settings files in that folder. Portrait packs can also cause start-up issues but usually later in the process. Don't know about Mac.

Sorry to be that guy, but I still can't find what you're talking about. Can you possably take a screenshot of what we need to look for and where exactly it could be located? I'm sorry , but i'm lost and despirate to play one of my favorite games again.

Here is the file path C:\Users\Mike\AppData\Roaming\Strive for Power 2\logs

I think Appdata is a hidden file by default so you may need to open your Users/"whatever your name is" folder, open its properties and set it to display hidden files.

Ok, I found the file and deleted the two things you said to delete, yet my game still freezes. only difference is it's a different screen now

This may be a possible fix: uninstall the game and install again. It unfroze the main screen and I was able to click on Change Log and New Game. I instantly exited the game to report this and I don't know if its a one time thing or not.

Deleted and re downloaded the game. Did both 32 and 64, neither worked for me.

SCRIPT ERROR: Invalid call. Nonexistent function 'open' in base 'Nil'.

I have tried literally everything everyone here has suggested, and nothing worked for me. Now granted I am apparently Computer Innept, so I wouldn't be surprised if I screwed up somewhere along the line. At this point, I'm just going to pray its fixed in the next update...
