It's like the weapons are made of plastic lol, does it get better with better gear? The durability or how it breaks?
Soulash is a fantasy roguelike where you play as a forgotten god set on destroying the world. · By
Better items have more durability, but the idea will remain the same. There are plenty of cool items dropping and you can craft new ones yourself too. Usually if the items last for too long, most of the new finds are rendered useless as soon as you find something very good. With this mechanic in place, the second best item is also a very valuable find.
This is pretty unique, but I've put a lot of thought and testing into this, there are many supporting mechanics like crafting or autoequipping to combat some of the pitfalls of the system. If it will turn out that this is an issue, there are some solutions that could be implemented, for example a blacksmith class with unique ability of repairing items or some very rare items that would restore limited number of your best finds.
I think it's well scaled, but finding a rarer item is often times meaningless
I do find myself keeping three backup (usually epic) weapon sets for a raid but that depends on your playstyle
However, a legendary drop of the item class is usually something you will find yourself keeping for a long time. I've had The Holy Avenger drop with 260 durability and by the time it broke another one already dropped, and I had other items to fall back to as well
This was on a modded run though so take that into account as well
I think for now this hints to a speedrunner of sorts so best routes will always be important. I usually hunt down that Magnificent wizard guy for his ring as one of my first things on a new run
