DOWNLOAD ERROR FIX

On the DOWNLOAD page there is a small text line to click and the downloads will come from an alternate server. CLICK THE TEXT, CHECK THE BOX.....and then close that small window that opens up. go back to the download page by closing the tiny pop=up window and select the desired download again. So far, no issues and got past 1%.

It should work, it finaly downloaded for me

For anyone that comes across this thread, just a few quick checks:

  • Are you staying connected to the internet the whole time while the file downloads?
  • You should not be using any download manager extensions or programs, they are not compatible with our website
  • Are you using any proxy or VPN services? Try disabling them
  • You might want to try temporarily disabling your virus scanner if you have one, to see if that lets the download through
  • We have a desktop app that supports resumable downloads that you can try: https://itch.io/app

You can also try the alternative download mode above, but download speeds will be much slower.

A simple click on the box fixes it. If not working still try LEAFO's way. Would not work for me with FIREFOX, CONNECTED TO INTERNET, (did not use download extensions), VIRUS SCANNER UP (don't trust any download with virus scanner up, although it is possible that the scanner restricts the download as an UNKNOWN SOURCE) and THE DESKTOP APP was NOT downloading either. all these were fixed by clicking the ALTERNATIVE SERVER.

I bypassed the error by stopping the download every 5 mb and resuming it after 1-2 seconds of waiting

Hello, sorry about the trouble

Is it possible for you to run the traceroute command on your computer to our downloads server. Here are the directions:

To run traceroute on Windows:

  1. Open the command prompt:
    1. Go to Start > Run.
    2. Type cmd and press the Enter key.
  2. In the command prompt, type (or paste): tracert w3g3a5v6.ssl.hwcdn.net
  3. Press the Enter key. You may have to wait up to a minute or more for the test to complete
  4. Copy and paste, or take a screenshot of the results, including all of it, and send it back to us.
You can email the results to me at support@itch.io or share them here.

Thanks

that must have been annoying
