I've had an epiphany regarding the current sex system, which feels lackluster.


Slaves need rest. Without rest, they will become less loyal, and work slower; with enough rest, they work better. Sex works like rest, but works faster, thus it is profitable to have your slaves have sex often, to ensure peak efficiency. This is done by sending compatible slaves to the bedroom whenever they need sex/rest. The master can join in, of course, or just stick around to supervise.


Slaves have affinities and preferences, therefore it's best to know which slaves like each others. Moreover, slaves that have great sex can gain inspirations to work or fight better, or just bonuses, like experience or stat increases. The master bedroom upgrades can improve the quality of the sex, but you can still send slaves to other rooms if it's busy (or needs to be cleaned after a particularly great session).

The need for sex could be determined by lust, which slowly increases over time; it just makes no sense that having multiple orgasms makes you hornier.

I absolutely agree with this. What I believe in current Lust system this stat is a amalgamation of Horniness/Sex Drive/Sex Appetite and Sexual Energy (read Sexual Satisfaction quantified and given supernatural properties with similarities to Mana). As it is currently it is quite illogical that Sex interaction and Public Sex Humiliation increases Lust while some other sexual skills like Reward with Sex and Serve decrease it. What I propose is to divide the Lust stat into these two:

Sex Drive - Increases with time, the rate and its dependency should be roughly the same as current Lust. It also passively adds some Consent. As the servants become more horny they should be more agreeable to sex actions. If the servant experiences orgasm and has enough SD(Sex Drive) it consumes certain amount of this stat to enhance the effects, like gaining more Sexual Energy (effects below), more loyalty and so on. Current effects should be decreased for balancing purposes. There is also an option for buffing prostitution, when slave is horny (has enough Sex Drive) consume certain amount it for bonus gold instead.

Sexual Energy - If there's some, certain amount will be consumed every turn/hour for buff to productivity and some obedience and loyalty or buff to (in future because there's none so far but I hope they will be added) entertainment jobs, like waitresses, dancers, singers and so on - happy girls are more beautiful, well fucked happy girls even more so, and a prettier eye candy obviously increases sales more - in which case, same as above, consume certain amount for bonus gold. Also this opens the new resource which can power Sexual side Social skills like Seduce or Charm. For example, you can even remove max capacity on those, but make cost high like 100 SE(Sexual Energy) for seduce and 25 SE for Charm.

I do not recommend buffing damage and def or any combat stat with current equilibrium, it is still too op compared to production so far. I do like the suggestion about experience and stat increases. Let's say well satisfied servants would be more inclined to focus on their work and improve themselves for a good master, again with the current state of the game it should be for production jobs only.

Sex Energy as an attribute that increases productivity is a nice idea. Obviously, it adds some interesting characteristics to sexual and social classes that might be a bit bland otherwise. What I had in mind with the inspirations was more of an immediate bonus gained after particularly good sex, for example :

- Alice has had an inspiration upon reaching an amazing orgasm! She will have more Charm and Sexual attributes for the next 2 days.

- While enjoying post-orgasmic bliss, Babbs felt happier and more fulfilled. She will work at production jobs 25% faster for the next 3 days.

- Sex with her favorite partner has left Clara energized. She will have increased speed, accuracy and dodge for the next expedition.

- Dana is feeling grateful after getting personal attention from you. She is now Devoted to you.

- Emily loves sex so much that she wants to do it more often. The next Sexual class she learns will cost half the experience and will not count toward her maximum number of classes.


The idea is just to have interesting events happen when you let your slaves enjoy great sex. Havin lots of ways to improve sexual satisfaction, and lots of random events would make the game more interesting and have better replay value.

This would not be a terrible idea if there would be no penalty for not doing rest/sex and I have attempted to make rest system in the earlier verisons. It didn't really worked because of 1. it requires significantly more attention from the player than simple 'set and forget' 2. manually taking care of it becomes a nightmare once your pool grows. The sex system could use some rework (or rather renaming if 'lust' and more uses for it), but making it more mandatory is not the approach I wanna take.

I agree that it should generally not be mandatory, especially in the early game where options are limited. I could however imagine certain characters, maybe certain classes, having a sex need. As for the micromanaging, each slave could get a sex schedule, or just an option to automatically take care of sex needs. Slaves that like each others could be paired (or threesomed, or foursomed) so they take their breaks together, and the master's interaction is only necessary when you want particular pairings. Making sex micromanaging mandatory would obviously be bad, but sex, in a game largely about sex, should be more relevant; and it should have more far-reaching effects that are not limited to sex itself.

Please consider the amount of potential work which would have to be done before making a suggestion. Adding sex schedule is a whole new area of complexity which i simply dont have both time and willingness to do.

A simple schedule, as in an option on every slave to automatically have sex whenever their lust is too high, with additional options to pick either the highest lust slaves as partner, their favorite slave, or let the master decide. You can decide to punish slaves by denying them sex, or make them serve others. Slaves assigned to the Service job will join any open sex slot to increase the enjoyment of other slaves; they will not enjoy the sex itself, but some classes decrease the tiredness gained from the Service job.

One way to automatize that could be to simply allow your minions to have sex with each other when they want to. There could be a "sexual autonomy" setting where the player can decide for each slave separately whether or not they are permitted to engage in consensual sex with other slaves, demand sex from other slaves and/or are obligated to fulfill demands for sex from other slaves.

So the player could decide what kinds of sexual morals to enforce in their household. Either a celibate household where nobody has sex without the masters permission, a free love community where everyone is allowed to enjoy each other if there is mutual consent, a free-use household where anyone can demand sex from anyone or a strict hierarchy of sex slaves and those who are entitled to use them.

This could also be tied into the rank system - a character of higher rank might be entitled to demand sex from any character of lower rank (if they have the permission of their master, of course) while sex with a character of equal or higher rank requires mutual consent.

Would such sex exist entirely offscreen?

Per default I would see that scene playing out off-screen. The sex system mechanics already work pretty fine without the player actively doing anything, so having a sex scene entirely off-screen shouldn't be that difficult.

But considering that the game now works in time increments of one hour, it would also be possible to show some kind of notification for an ingame-hour saying that two characters are getting it on right now. The player should then be allowed to peep and/or join in if they want to (starting a regular sex scene with the two characters).

I would not do this as a modal popup event the player is forced to interact with, because that might get quite annoying in the long run (especially if the player aims to construct a "swinger club" scenario where everyone is constantly fucking - something I would really enjoy, by the way). I would rather do it as an icon in the character list or a toast notification which can be easily ignored if the player does not care right now.

I like the idea a lot, but making your job even harder for the sake of it is a big no. That's how burnout happens and great games get abandoned midways. Plus having to micromanaga all of that would be quite a pain.

... Perhaps if it becomes a job, like hunting or forging. Make it similar to prostitution, but focused inwards for a blanket efficiency bonus instead of coin. Say, something like a Service job, with options of "attention" - or whatever you wnt to call it - that relieves stress and/or gives a 'well-rested' buff to people resting, and a "relief" option for the sexual version. It could work with the current interface, much like picking either leather or meat when you assignt hunters to their job. That way, you get the benefits without having to manually make slaves have sex regularly. You could add a new upgrade room , like a resting room, a linen closet or something of the sort or let it be implied they do the attending and the "servicing" on the slave/employee's own room. You could even make use/give another function to the Maids/Butler job that way: they can make the resting action/room all the more efficient at removing build-up stress when assigned to "attention", while Harlots get a bonus to sex relief and Geishas can do pretty well in either,

Would that help? Is it more doable like this? It makes use of mechanics already there, so hopefully that makes this wonderful idea easier on you.

Another idea I had while writing this is the possibility of a "bar" or perhaps a "restaurant" upgrade. Once built, it could unlock a job option as a waiter/waitress - a job in which Maids/Butlers get a bonus in, as their training makes them betters hosts and thus more likely to get tips (i.e. extra money to your pocket, even if only a cut of it for non-slaves) - and have them serve food and drinks for a passive income that does not need you going to the market every time, much like Prostitution. Also, keeping the pantry full of delicious food and liquors could be both a reason to invest ever-valuable exp into the Cook class and something to keep your cooks busy with, and with well-equiped  hunters, fishers and farmers, it could become a good source of passive income.


Would either of those ideas be useful to you?

Making your job easier is the goal of this idea, yes. Too many social skills need to be repeated every day, with minimal bonuses for use, that making them passives or job-specific would save the player time. Ideally making it passive, automated, or on a schedule would save even more time in the long run.

Having your own service buildings is something that's already planned I think. Having your cooks, whores and entertainers work there full time seems like a good idea that fits well with the theme of this idea, and the game in general.
