The art is BEAUTIFUL. A little feedback for your future platformers or updates: Don't make the ceiling lower than the jump! It can be frustrating to collide with it trying to move. Work on measuring distances and make the platforms feel good. You could also add checkpoints so there's no need to restart from the beginning and if you really want to give it something else, add a complementary mechanic to make things interesting!

Overall a really good entry and a very impressive "first game ever"!

Developer

thank you so much! :D

good point, I'll be sure to try and fix the distances, and the checkpoint system is a great idea! I'll keep working on it, thank you so much for the comment and feedback!

Queenie is ADORABLE.  :)  For a first game, this is great start.  The environment was inviting and I liked the design of your level.  My only complain is that I kept getting stuck on ceilings/walls in the middle of jumps.  I think FallingWallGames provided a suggestion to solve this.

Well done!

Developer

thanks so much! :D

good point, I'll make sure to leave a little room for the jumps, and fix the stickiness lol. thanks for the comments and feedback!

Nice atmosphere and music choice. Platforming puzzles scale in difficulty, as they should.

A couple of sound effects would really help. One for picking up a pumpkin, one for falling off a cliff, and maybe one for jumping. You could use bfxr to create retro-style sound effects. Also, the character's fall is arrested when brushing against walls. To prevent this, you should set the friction for the character at 0.

hey thanks so much for the feedback and the suggestions! I was looking for sfx but ran out of time before I could find any rip. thanks again! :D

I like your game. The art is awesome!

I just think you could add more feedback sounds in you game. There are just a few sfx on it.

But its really great!!! Good Job! =)

The game is cute. I suggest you to change character movement though. I think you used rigid body, so your player gets stuck into walls. I suggest you to use a charachter controller, or set the friction to 0 (and friction mode to multiply) to avoid this issue. It is a game breaking bug.

Nice job, keep going!

Developer

ahh thank you so much for the feedback, that was something I was so frustrated with and I couldn't figure out how to fix it, thanks!

It's a good game, just a few bugs in it. I'm not sure if it was just my pc but I couldn't hear the music. Otherwise a good first attempt.

Developer

oh really? huh that's odd, not sure why that might be. though when a few elements stopped responding, refreshing seemed to help. and thanks for the feeback :D

Really simple game buta nice one for a first game! If you fix some bugs like sticky walls and ceilings (anyone who tried a platform has seen those), make the movements a bit less stiff (like with jus t a bit of momentum) and add some sound effects, it will become a proper little platform experience. Pointing those things out because, in my experience, they are the most rewarding dents to flat out, not requiring lot of efforts but giving you a most improved game, so keep up the good work

ahh thank you so much for the feedback! i'll definitely keep working on it, and i'm glad the stickiness isn't something i experienced alone haha
