I really like how the physics make flying around even more fun! Good job!

Alas, the game freezes when trying to select a level. I am using Firefox 92.0.
Hi,
I wanted to try your game but I am getting an error when selecting a level

I'm on Firefox 92.0 on Arch Linux
Hello there, thanks for pointing this out. I can actually trace the point where things go awry (thanks doubled for the accurate report). It seems custom events are picky, but only on linux... Really strange, I'll look into it. For the time being the only suggestion is to try chrome, even if firefox too was working for others and for me. Sorry!
Well, that was fast... it seems I lost compatibility with firefox (and safari) refactoring the index file just before submission. I knew it was too easy to be real, that thing that let me cut some six lines of code. I'm not sure I can update the game now, so chrome is the only option available to you, but at least we are sure linux isn't the reason behind this.
I liked moving around like you suggested, but I couldn't figure out the actual goal of the game. The score up top just stayed at 0% for the whole time I was playing.
Hi, I actually dropped on twitch like five minutes before you got my game at random, but without an account I couldn't write in the chat.
You aren't the first having an hard time understanding that leaves should go on the white patch on the ground, and the station (the thing protruding from ground) is there to recharge the battery (which shows in the bottom right cornere where you had the facecam, so I'm not sure you got to notice the battery meter either).
All in all I'm happy with the movement, and I'm glad you liked it, but got to mark down lot of things I should care more about next time. I saw you very confused, and felt clearly that every bit of it was on me. And "you should read the description" it's not a valid argument, as a game as simple in concept as mine should be most intutive to play. Besides, I'm a master of skipping description too :D
Thank for you time and rating!
It was one or the other.... or one of the other two game modes I get to play with before having to choose one. There where optimization problems either way, so he area has to be small, and clening an area so small would have been a two second affair. My initial idea was to make you replicate shapes more and more complex as the levels went on, almost a puzzle, but there were some many things to fix.
Thanks for your thoughts anyway, apreciated!
Props for working in all web tech! I tend to make toys more often than games, so I know how you felt on this one. Good job, hope you had fun!
This is certainly an interesting and fun creation! I woke up today not knowing I needed to experience pushing around leaves with a quadcopter, but now I have! I wasn't able to get it to work in Firefox, but it worked just fine in Chrome. Good work!
I don't seem to understand what the goal of each level is... But I don't care! It was fun enough to move the drone around and blow leaves and making sounds. It's a shame that the game abruptly ends when you lose, specially when you don't understand the lose conditions.
There's some technical issues but not major. When I lost and retried, the sound stopped and the game lagged a lot, eventually freezing.
In my opinion the game would have worked as a fly-a-drone toy without any goals at all. It was quite enjoyable!
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the goal is to cover 50% of the white patch on the ground... it's a dynamic actually hammered in at the last momenta as it was fun just to fly around for me too but I felt a game needed a goal of some kind. I got the "toy" feeling to late to embrace it :(
Proably you lost cause the battery went dry, or got too far from the terrain. The sound bug could be the reason for other experiencing freezing, webaudio is a mess... oh well, I'll get it right next time.
Very fun! I've never owned/controlled a drone IRL but I found the control/handling to make sense based on how I would imagine controlling a drone is like. This was a very relaxing/atmospheric experience I felt.
Did you made this without an engine? (you mentioned making it in javascript on the page) That's really amazing to me, I wouldn't know where to even begin.
Thank you for the comment, I controlled a drone irl for all of two minutes before making this :D
And yes, I used only libraries like threejs and cannon, which manage webgl and physics, but nothing to tie up the many gamedevving aspects like game cycles, thread, assetes import, controls... it's an uphill battle even with a language you feel at ease with, but it's something I could definitely reccomend trying! All the things you find in an engine like unity or godot make so much more sense afterward, and you get to be a lot less scared when some plugin or tool requires you to get your hands dirty. There's definitly value in using engines, but I'm going to keep engineless for some other upcoming projects
It was really hard to control the drone and get the leaves going where I wanted them to go. the game kept freezing up and was unresponsive at times. I thought it would be harder to remember all the key combinations to move the drone around, but they were actually quite intuitive. I don't think drones are the future of leave blowing. :P
Thanks for playing! It's a shame the drone was hard to control, but if you got freezeups that's probably the reason, even if controls are meant to get used to a bit (just like with real drones), so may I ask which browser were you on? I'm just collecting data to avoid some compatiblity probems that normally a game angine would prevent (and I went without an engine).
And no, I wouldn't get ready to dodge flying blowing-drones in the future too :D
