it's original but the movement not really smooth and gameplay is a bit boring

Developer

Thanks for playing.

Could you elaborate on the movement? Was this due to the speed of the movement? Were you using a keyboard to move, or was there a performance issue?

I'm interested because I think there's definitely many flaws with the game but I didn't imagine that would be one of them.

Thanks again!

Survived 34 seconds :)

Had fun playing it, Nice Job!

Developer

Glad you like it, thanks for giving it a go!

Cool game! I think it was a little too difficult to catch flies and it was weird that you couldn't tell how much time was left. Nice job, especially for such a short time.

Developer

Yeah I thought I might have made it a bit too difficult in the end - I probably would have done some sort of progression with ramping up of difficulty if I had more time - classic case of the developer being the only playtester!

There is a 'health bar' that gradually decreases and is topped up by catching the flies - but I definitely made it too small and tucked away in the corner where it was not clear enough what was going on.

Thanks for the playing and for the feedback!

It was really fun, but it was also easy to leave the viewport and it was concerning not knowing how much time I'd made it until after the end.

Developer

Yeah that's fair, I wasn't really totally happy with the viewport constraints in the end - I tried wrapping the viewport so that you warp, Asteroids style, but that didn't feel right either.

Also yeah you're right the UI elements could probably do with being a bit clearer.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback!

I actually had a really similar problem in my game and another I made. What I did was in the game scene, I added a staticbody2d node with the new world boundary shape to each side in the collissionshape2d node attached to that one.

Developer

Yeah that makes total sense. You could even put in a little rebound to push you a little bit away from the edge.

Managed to survive for 24 seconds! Not the easiest task due to small hitboxes. Nice game!

Developer(+1)

Yeah balancing the difficulty was quite hard. The collision area is actually about twice as big as the sprite but yeah it's still not easy!

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback, appreciate it!
