I like the artstyle. There were a few times when you could see a the solid black square around a baddie but nothing too dramatic. Good work.

Developer

Yeah we had a few minor issues with that but nothing game breaking I hope

Couldn't get music to play, but this appears to be a browser compatibility issue with Safari...**Edit: Had a friend test and send me video; the sound effects are really loud compared to the music. Keep that in mind for next time.

Other than that, there are visible seams around multiple graphics, and some environmental objects are easy to confuse with enemies, but I like the animations quite a bit.

The platforming definitely needs some tinkering and tightening up, mechanically, but it's a solid little game. Good work.

Thank you for the feedback

Very nice game, needs tidying and polishing but has potential

Thank you for the kind words

Art style was really good, player movement was for the most part good. Definitely a few bugs here and there, but playable. I liked it

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I really liked the art and music. The game atmosphere felt cozy, and relaxing. I liked the player movement feel a ton. The game was very polished. The one-bitness was okay, but you do reduce the alpha after dying which as discord discussed not staying 1-bit (Very minor thing).  How did you come up with the name "Dragon Slayer" because that is not really describing the game that well (Just my opinion). How did the game relate to the theme? Because you used the dragon theme lightly and did not use the other themes really at all. Overall very polished and fun game, good job, and keep it up!

Developer

Thank s for the feedback! We were struggling for a name so we came up with dragon slayer because the final boss is a dragon and the level before that is kind of like the player trying to find the dragon :)

Okay, I would not name the game off of final boss.

Developer

Hi, we love your feedback, how would you name our game? Just curios :D

I do not know, I do not know your game like you do. All I know is the name "Dragon Slayer" is not very fitting. It is just one of those games I am like that name is not right for that game.

Developer

in regards to reducing the alpha in the discord they also said that you could change all the colors stay the same which they do here

What do you mean?

Developer

there were only two colors at a time so it didn't  break the 1 bit rule

Clickbait.

Developer

Why clickbait? lol

Developer

What’s click bait about it

Submitted

1) It says "dragon slayer" and there are no dragons (at least I didn't get to them, and I tried a lot)

2) It has health on thumbnail and there's this stupid permadeath system instead

Developer (1 edit)

1)  You fight the dragon at the end as a boss battle

2) The permadeath only applies if you fall off a platform

It isn't clickbait  :)

Submitted(+1)

Okay, maybe im wrong about 1), but I had far better expectations for the game.
2) It's still unfair to go to the very beginning after you made a small mistake

Developer

We didn't really have too much time to add anything else to make it easier but I see where your coming from

I really don't want to be harsh, I understand that you guys probably don't have a lot of time/experience to make things right, but you should've at least creditted Kenney

Submitted

The game is broken. And I don't mean unpolished, it's literally Fallout 76-level broken: clipping through walls, uncut textures, bullets blocking the player's way, wrong resolution and stuff.

Submitted

And you don't fight the dragon, because there's no way any man on this whole freaking planet ever reached it legitemately. And permadeath is not when you die one hit, it's when there're no freaking saves

Developer

Fair enough. Feedback is always welcome. And for crediting Kenny, if that's for the music or the art then I would be the wrong person to talk about that to because I only worked on the programming. Also, if you have any advice on how to make the game a bit easier to reach the end, then please tell us.
