- its a fun little project tbh.
Did you, or anyone on your team, use AI to generate any aspect of this game?
I did not use AI to generate any aspect of this game.
Did you work on this solo or as a team? What was your team size?
I worked solo.
Did you start on your submission early ?
I started this project 2 years ago, but it remained largely unfinished and was barely a game. I uploaded it to GitHub and sort of forgot about it until this game jam came up, which prompted me to return to its development. When I left it it had only basic player movement, collidable level geo and some placeholder sprites. During the jam I had to add enemy functionality - movement (different for different enemies), health, projectiles that reduce player health, colliders to interact with players and environment, player fuctionality - remastered movement, health, projectiles which can reduce enemy health and increament the score, level assets & level design, score, UI to display score and player health, some animations for set dressing, projectiles, enemies and some UI elements, music, SFX, fonts, menus, win & lose conditions - BASICALLY ALMOST EVERYTHING. The game is inspired by the aesthetics of '90s arcade space shooters (shoot 'em ups), so I thought it might be appropriate for a jam celebrating the nostalgia of a graphical era (the PS1 era).

Fairly short, but overall a good game. The player's revival at the starting point seemed rather odd. And it wasn't exactly easy to distinguish enemy bullets from particles.
Thanks for the feedback!
Enjoyable little game, the volume shattered my ears and the adjusted volume in the settings didn’t save sometimes.
Thank you for letting me know about the volume.
Nice!
