Games just unfinished cool idea

Submitted

Honestly, I think the idea does have some promise, but there's not too much variety with the gameplay and it felt like I was just moving around and clicking on buttons to do things. Moving around also doesn't feel that intuitive or clear, especially since a lot of the art for the rooms are placeholders, and I was initially unsure about how the minimap worked since the arrow was pointing in the opposite direction.

The web/Twine game also doesn't seem to work properly on the itch page, but I was able to get through some of it by opening it in a new tab. I think it's more interesting than the regular game, but it doesn't seem to be quite finished. I think with some more time, it can be developed into something interesting.

When your screen gets replaced with the raccoon meme it kind of just ruins the game. You can still press the buttons but if you can't see what is happening it doesn't really matter. some of the art in the beginning was cool for the room. Maybe if they had more time to work on it it would be cool If there were mini games to do to study or make food. I agree with Cade that the message of the game was poorly portrayed.

only give you one option and it feels like it does the opposite of what it is trying to do

The browser build is broken. In fact, are the two even the same game? They both seem so different. The art is rough and the text is riddled with many grammar issues that make it hard to read.

While I get what the game was going for with adhd paralysis and not being able to do anything, this game feels like a of a mockery of it.  I don't mean to offend but the messaging was poorly written and executed, the ending in particular left a really bad taste in my mouth. To me, it feels like the topic wasn't taken with the care it needed.

I felt the same way

With a little more time probably could often great, but the is no clear gameplay loop, some of the rooms seem unfinished and the menu screens seem off, also shouldn't have had a web version if it doesn't work.

A lot of things felt unclear, and it took me overhearing other people to realize how the minimap worked. After I realized that, though, I was able to complete some work. But it was also unclear to me everything that needed to be done, and even after I did some of my tasks, I think my character still harmed themselves. I ate a lot of food though.

Aside from the gameplay difficulties and raccoon confusion, I did like some of the room art. I would like to see a more fleshed out version of the game, and to better be able to put myself in the character's shoes.

If the game that you made for this game jam isn't playable in browser, don't say that you can play this game in browser! Also even the twine game appears broken, as I can't scroll down. The actual game, (which took me a little to find out wasn't the twine game,) is badly broken. Sometimes the room I enter has a background, sometimes it doesn't. I only found 4 tasks that I could do and I don't know what to do now.
