I enjoyed this a lot. I got recommended it by someone who hadn't even heard of the jam! I appreciate the execution of the story and the twist at the end (and how it connects to the start). I like the use of the screen space for the puzzles and text, and I felt like the movement sections between the puzzles were interesting and engaging, though not quite as moving emotionally in the moment as I'd've liked (which I find most of the time with these kinds of games). Looking back on it, I'm getting more from it, though. It might just be that I'm a little sleepy right now. I thought about decreasing my rating on "originality" because of how normal I feel the structure of "text story bookends, puzzles with movement section in between" is, but certainly the game would be less original if it were only "text story bookends with puzzles in between". And I did feel there were a lot of aspects that did surprise me, like the text instructing you to get out by any means necessary, and the general premise of being the inverse of one of those mobile game ads where the rods block each other (as in, rather than old rods stopping new rods, new walls destroy old walls). And I should say, I enjoyed the puzzles, too! I never felt like they were unfair, while I still got to stop and think for a bit and reset more as the game went on.

Wow this was great! I liked that it was simple enough to grok but the puzzles always had a bit of a challenge. I really liked the art and vibe of the game too.

Really lovely game! The very visceral and crunchy mechanics were satisfying to play with and kept me engaged all the way through. Each level really felt like a clockwork machine that fit together just right if you use the right moves in the right order, which is perfect for a one-screen puzzle game. I liked the breaks between levels to add a little extra tension and atmosphere -- it's always memorable when you take the game mechanics out of the usual context to make a kind of interactive cutscene like in the final level with the 5 timed pillars.

I was so sad when this game was over! I absolutely loved these puzzles and the vibes were impeccable <3.

simply incredible, excellent all the way through! the game's core mechanic is very simple and through that simplicity is where the puzzles shine through. the pacing of the game is very nice, with a healthy difficulty curve that exercises the right amount of complexity given the current point of the game, which allows the player to further learn and apply their newly gained knowledge! the mechanic also is able to branch itself out nicely with many game mechanics that compliment its core perfectly! also given the nature of how the game works, there aren't that many different permutations of a given puzzle's state, so although it can feel complex, one can deduce (or stumble which is fine as well xd) the solution based on "paths" that the player hasn't explored yet in terms of navigating through the puzzle, which is always nice in a game like this!

the presentation of the game is also great! the pixel art is looks really good given the bit resolution that its on, and is also very clean and communicative which is very important for puzzle games! the ground is a good black to distinguish impassable collisions, the moveable walls are red with black dithering which makes it both pop out really well while still feeling like a part of the environment, and the character is a good white which also pops out against the darker colors. even then the backgrounds still have really good visual flare with its use of geometric patterns without being visually noisy, its just really nice to look at! also the audio is really nice and provides good feedback for any of the interactions that occur in the game!

i had a lot of fun playing this and was engaged the entire way through! great work!
