Got stuck in exactly the same place. I have to admit that I didn't want to try again because walking. Is. So. Slow. You have to backtrack a lot, and it gets tedious pretty quickly. In addition, changing the height of the waypoints for the character might be a good idea. Or, if that's not possible, choose the backgrounds accordingly. It looks a bit silly to just walk through the air. Sticking to one art style might work better, too. At the moment things look very random.
I like the story. Visiting all your friends and family at the end of a long life is a neat idea. And that you used your own engine is great!
(Oh, and you might want to name the creators of the assets on your game page, as this is mandatory for the jam: If using freeware or commercially available assets, please credit the original creators.)
the walking is too slow, ok. the credits are shown in the title-screen of the game
Hey!
So I think the idea is very neat, the music and the story are engaging. However I think there are some design choices that are detrimental to the game. For example, the character feels too slow, so walking back to give the characters their items feels like an "oh no" moment, especially if they're far away. I also encountered some issues where sometimes the walking would become slower and jankier, as though I was colliding with something, but I never figured out what that was. I'd also recommend changing the color scheme of the initial story text, because it felt very straining on my eyes! Maybe white or yellow text would go a bit better with the blue in the background.
Overall, I liked the idea of a more narrative driven game, which fit very well with the adventure theme of the jam. However, I couldn't quite finish the game because the other issues weighed a bit on me! Would love to revisit the game sometime :)
yes, maybe the walking is too slow. next time i chose white text
I got stuck on the place with the fairy that asks for the galaxy-card. couldn't go back or end the game. Pretty fun up till that point though.
someone give you the galaxy-card. that you couldnt go back, that must be a bug. but i cant update the game now
I understand. I just thought you should be aware of the issue in case you wanted to update the game after the game jam.
thank you for your mail. after the game jam i will update the game
I tried to play as far as I could until I got stuck being unable to use the medkit. The story was pretty good, but the graphics were a bit of a mishmash and didn't fit well together. The character was also quite slow, which made it a tad painful to get around. The system seems rudimentary, and I suspect you used some form of engine, but overall it isn't too bad. The items given by different people seem very random as well. Besides that, it is an alright concept!
thank you for your mail. ok, the movement could be faster. the graphics are from opengameart.org by various artists
i used for that game javascript/jquery. the adventure-engine i made self
ah cool!
Hey! The game won't run (maybe it's just for me). I'll try it again if you fix this.
its running, in the bgin you must click mouse. moving is with cursor keys
Well, I did click, tried to move, tried everything, it won't run in my Chrome, still. Only blank grey screen with action buttons.
