Alright this is a really great prototype. I found myself a bit confused on how to attack with the sword, because there were only 4 possible directions. But then I just passed by the skeletons.
It does look awesome, and I think I am getting the vibe you are trying to achieve.
Anyway, let me say that for a two weeks submission, you have done an amazing thing already. Congratulations!!
Thank you!
I am surprised about the 3D, found the combat too strange, I prefered to ignore the skeletons :D
Thanks for the feedback!
Good job getting this done within two weeks. The controls were a bit slippery and I actually got stuck after collecting the food because I killed a skeleton in the doorway and I couldn't walk past him, maybe the enemies could disappear once they're vanquished? Either way, a good start.
Thanks for playing and thanks for the feedback!
Great start for an adventure! The game looks good and feels nostalgic. The combat and movement need a lot of polish though. Player feedback when hitting enemies would also be a good addition (hit animation, blinking character model or hit particle effect). I understand why you chose the current font, but that kind of font should be used in moderation as it can be hard to read. Bonus points for doing a 3D game. It's not easy making a good looking game in 3D. Good work!
Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate you playing my game!
What I liked about this game: I love this top-down perspective, it really works for a game like this. The art is really nice. Animation is fluid and it reminds me of classic fantasy dungeon crawlers. I also like the music and SFX, you really know how to set the mood. It got me really excited to play, seeing that knight with his awesome armor doing idle animations on the title screen!
What needs improvement: ...er, pretty much everything else, I'm afraid. There seems to have been almost no effort put into polish. The controls are floaty, almost like there are light ice physics going on. The character's direction almost never matches with where I'm going. I find it very difficult to hit skeletons, the hitbox seems really small and off-set. There are no tertiary sound or visual effects to confirm most actions, giving no satisfaction at best and confusing me at worst. And this is minor compared to everything else, but I really don't like your font choice for the dialog boxes. It's too messy and hard to read.
Please don't let any of this get you down. You've clearly got the seed of something great, here. And these problems are all fixable! I really hope to see you improve this game after the jam's over, and even if you don't, I hope you keep making games and improving at the general craft. You're clearly talented in key areas, you just need to fix some stuff!
Thanks for playing my game. I understand the criticism you have with the game, and I might update the game after. Thanks for the detailed review.
It is a smooth one, but you should consider to adding sound effect on sword swinging, clash, hit and maybe the enemies roaring sound. That will make the combat become more alive.
Thank you for the feedback. I will take this into consideration for my next projects.
Loved it!
Even tho' the movement and combat seem a bit sluggish, I liked the gameplay and dungeony style!
Thanks for the feedback!
I loved the atmosphere of your game. The graphics and animations are really nice. The combat was a bit challenging for me and I has to resort to running away a lot :D, but I did finish the game and enjoyed the overall experience. One suggestion I would have is to make it possible to walk through dead skeletons because they sometimes block the path to the door. Good work, overall!
Thanks so much for the feedback!
good game but i had difficulty with the controls in that perspective. In my opinion it would have been better as a first person game.
Thanks for the feedback.
