This game definitely succeceded in re-creating that Golden Idol feeling. The clues were all there along with a few red herrings. Background audio kept the atmosphere going without being intrusive or distracting. I know it's a lot of work to put something like this together in such a short time. It was very well done.
Very interesting and a unique style! I love how you managed to mix your drawings with some geek/programmer things in a way that makes sense. Oh I miss Lan Parties! The best one and last I did was in 2000 with my best friends from college. Anyway great game!
Huge nostalgia for me playing this as a kid who very much grew up in the LAN party era. The puzzles and the 'borrowed' mechanic worked great and the graphics sold the atmosphere. I also loved the ICQ style chats and the 90s l33t speak - tone was perfect.
Thanks! Obra Dinn is definitely there in the chain of influences, but if you liked this and haven't played Case of the Golden Idol (or the sequel, Rise of the Golden Idol) then go check them out and you'll see the more direct influence (ie. we 'borrowed' their exact gameplay) :D

I'm glad you enjoyed it, and that my writing evoked the period well enough to resonate with you!
I loved it. I got stuck for a long time because I had dragged the wrong rule number into a box and just assumed I'd done it right!
Funnily enough it reminded me of the Return of the Obra Dinn.
Great game!

I will definitely look into them! Thank you.
