Alas, I failed to defeat the sailor and Albert met his end without reaching the exit.

I love the illustrations.

There's a bunch of stock RPG maker sprites and backgrounds in the zip that aren't getting used. I think you'll wanna see what you can get rid of to keep the game's size down.

Developer

thanks for playing!

I'm working on an update right now, so I will remove all those extra assets once is up. RPG Maker gets weird if you aren't careful with those, that's why I left them for now.

ahoy, i knew i recognized that art from somewhere!

i gave it a go and went through quite a few encounters. here are my thoughts:

193MB for an rpg maker project seems high. check if you packaged things correctly, and if the dimensions for your art/textures is accurate

there's some language changes every now and then, but that's not that big of a deal

the gameplay loop is a bit too straight forward. it's fight -> do in-between fight action -> fight. i haven't had anything different than this at any point. a good starting point would be to encounter an empty room, or perhaps an immediate fight after a previous fight (perhaps if a rat flees, he summoned RATinforcements?). as long as you break the pattern a bit, it's a good idea

i like the style, humor and enemy design. it all fits together well. don't change anything in this area, clearly you are inspired and know what you're doing

there's also a couple of minor things. i instinctively press space for all the text to load instead of watching the textscroll, but the command was interpreted as "continue". the music volume was also quite high

for a first game, it's very impressive! keep up the good work. i encourage you to continue on this and resubmit for DD50

Thanks dude!

I been getting a lot of ideas from people, so I'll definetly expand on the game and submit for the next DD.

"A man went for drinks, and he one too many bottles."

He what with the bottles? The sentence is incomplete.

Not sure if the Spanish is on purpose or you forgot to translate it.

Crab, despite being paralyzed, attacked me with his pincer.

[Enemy] is poison makes no sense, it would be [Enemy] is poisoned. You wrote [Enemy] es veneno.

You have a good variety of enemies, they have really nice designs too.

A good variation of attacks as well, Fist of the West star feels fun when used.

Crotch kick seems overpowered. Every enemy I used it on was always immobilized and never got out of it, using it on the boss assured that he never got a chance to hit me back, though I might've just gotten lucky.

The good enemy design and attacks made it fun, can't wait to see it expanded on with more levels.

You probably shouldn't upload as an installer exe though. People are going to get suspicious and in most cases won't download your game thinking it's a virus.

I wasn't sure If adding more content was worth, but your comment made me want to improve the game.

Thanks for the feedback(specially the tip of not uploading as an exe, I didn't think of that), I think I can fix all easily.

I might expand it and update it for next Demo Day.
