They say the word is mightier than the sword, so a book armed with a sword must be the mightiest of them all

Please reduce the book hitbox, slow down the sword movement, and make it so the sword doesn't shake when it hits the mace. Adding just a little bit of inertia to the sword might be a nice touch.

I do like how the game looks. Most atmospheric phone minigame

fun mobile game, but needs more twists. The mace is a good behavior breaker of just holding a button but needs more things happening to last (maybe i just didnt get far enough?). Would be fun if you can get upgrades and things like that.

Biggest issue is that the hitbox of the book doesnt match the sprite so there are times when you think you should make it but you die because its hitting the invisible boundary.

not bad adding that mace so that the player cant just hold a is smart

I like that all the art is cohesive

not sure what could be added to it other than music

Good art and sounds.
Before you implemented the mace it was too easy, but now it seems too difficult.
Guys, you are Arthur defending Merlin. It's so obvious.
I just hope Merlin finishes casting the spell before-

Holy crap I suck at this game, but it had me laughing. The story is funny, and the sound is great. Very simple, but hard. Good work.

I could not master the "hold D" meta. As soon as the mace comes in I'm boned and I really tried lol. high score as of now is 9, perhaps the hitbox of the sword could be a little larger?

Still a solid idea, and I bet if I tried it on mobile it would shine, mouse controls are a little rough so maybe an alt control method would help. It's simple but the mace idea is cool! lot of potential.

I think this game can be improved if instead of spinning 360 degrees, it was constrained a bit to 180 degrees. Add some momentum so that you can’t just cheese the game by spinning constantly.

Similar to other comments:

  1. First I was using the mouse and it was too hard. I started presuming it was for touch screens. Thought dragging the mouse to parry the swords was the aim.
  2. Then I saw you can hold A or D to rotate; that makes the game feel not engaging until the mace comes in and then I sort of flail back and forth and hope for the best since the daggers are so fast I just have to trust that I'll whack them.

Highest score 24; which I acknowledge doesn't feel very high.

There is nothing going on here. You spin to win and that's that. Thematically, where even is the sense in having a sword swinging off daggers around a book? What?

As others have stated, you can "win" the game by holding down any of the two available keys.

How about having it so some daggers need to be hit from one direction, and other daggers need to be hit from the other? That'd make it more fun I think.

Anyway, minor complaint since I guess this is a mobile focused game, where I can see it being far more fun. Just add some background music and a bit more of variety and you'll have a pretty cool game. :)

For mouse and keyboard I was able to get a score of 29. No clue if that's good. It didn't seem possible to get all the daggers at times. I don't know if that was my own sluggishness or the randomness dicking me over. Cool concept though, reminds me of No More Ninjas by Bennet Foddy.

I like the drawing kind of style you're going for. The font is pretty cool too. I wonder if the that's all the same font size or if the letters really are that big like S and H. The concept is really nifty. Telepathically wielding a sword while stuck in an ancient codex. I could see an entire story come out of that. Since you have blades thrown at you anyways, it doesn't make much of a difference if the codex had a destination it was going to that once you reached, win something. It's more of a level based format or it could be a continuous based format where as you hit certain points, you get something fun to read in the codex or start to see different patterns of attacks. Might be more simple things like you start off with a plank of wood and gradually get a longer or thicker blade as you go on. The sword looks like it has some kind of gem embedded into it, so could even be magic that activates periodically. It could even have an ending where you free yourself from the inks of the pages. Overall, good presentation and a nice way to pass time. Only question that leaves me curious is what the background is.  I think it's a sandy ground or maybe you're in a basement. We may never know.

You can hold down A or D to instantly win, since there is no punishment for it. I know this is obviously a mobile focused game and it does what it does extremely well. I recommend something you want the book to get hit by for points or it stuns the sword. That alone would make the game a lot more fun. Also needs background music.
