Firefox was blocking my inputs after start, and had a disgusting aliasing. Then the page would crash. No apparent problems on a clean Chrome. Here's some thoughts :

- I would like the Shift button after I changed the character direction
- I would like to be able to change direction while the Shift mode, to aim anywhere
- Game feels a bit slow
- I don't like how the character have some kind of free movement inside each square of the grid
- I would not mind a less pixelated image
- The color palette is nice
- The heroine looks pretty unique

dying for some placeholder sound effects here some of the animations are a little over the top, or maybe wonky because it’s procedurally animated. hard to tell could do with a tutorial wish i could hold 2 directions at once. even if I can’t move diagonally, move in the last pressed direction map is way too big or character moves way too slow. your first area is extremely important to get right and you spend 5 minutes of teaching how to mantle and that you can walk in shallow water. gave up before getting to experience too much gameplay fell out of the map climbing underneath a bridge

Played around with the Controls, kicked away my Bombs, Game softlocked. Maybe I'm inside the respawning Bomb, and thats why I can'T move? Can't use shift or Space aswell tho.

Your Turrets don't seem to do anything. Designs are cute. Enemies still display player/bomb notify even when dead. Also when you throw a bomb, it has a really weird slowdown/timestop right in the middle of the throw, which feels very odd.

Being able to just kind of throw over everything also makes kicking pretty much useless, and throwing incredible strong and easy to deal with any situation. And you don't climb onto the Tile in front of you, but onto a Tileless position, meaning you can climb on railings, get blocked by being just slightly offcenter etc. maybe checking for the Tile you're mostly on in order to determine if vaulting is possible, and then vaulting into tile position if neighboring tiles block you might be better.

  • Where's the download? The web player is trash.
  • Why does the character stop when you press two movement keys at the same time? If you want to change direction, you have to let go of the key you're holding before pressing the new one.
  • It's hard to tell which ledges can be climbed.
  • Movement is too slow.
  • The camera movement when going in and out of throwing mode is too slow, especially when leaving it.
  • Why can you only throw bombs in the direction the character is facing? Just rotate the character if you move the cursor too far.
  • Not sure what changing bomb formation is for, but it's also too slow, and no matter what I set it to, they just go back to the same formation.
  • My camera got stuck at some point while messing with the formations.
  • The bomb explosion is slow and anemic.
  • What's "Herøes" supposed to mean? Why does the Itch page say "Heroes" instead?

Felt slow, not sure if it was just the animation or poor performance on my end. I will say that the slowmo on throwing a bomb is too much, made it feel sluggish rather than satisfying. Wish I could move diagonally. Mechanics are simple but entertaining, though I found it rare to care about kicking a bomb. Visually the game looks nice, a soft cell shaded effect.

Nicely done, looking forward to next time.

Hello! I tried your game, the inspiration seems obvious enough lol! It certainly is a lot of work to make a game like this! Nice work!

I would like to say though, that it kind of feels a little too slow, it would be nice to have a little more speed for the character movement.

Overall nice work!

The UI is great, the visual style is solid and it seems these are where you spent most of your effort so far. Nice touches like the shader for characters behind objects.

Low movement speed with a large map makes the gameplay itself nearly unbearable at the moment.

Diagonal input should not make the character stop moving. Just keep it going in the same direction. Also if that's a limitation for combat it would be nice if it were disabled while you're just moving around but that's really low priority in comparison.

I accidentally fell off the map by walking behind something.

First, the web version can't be played due to left control closing the tab in Firefox and Chrome. Runs worse in Chrome. I can't find a way to download it, so I can't really discuss the game more than that outside the presentation is extremely good. I'll come back to this later to try it again and update it if works on my end.

Thanks, I noticed that the Ctrl key was playing up last night too. I've changed it to Left Shift.
