As someone who has played a decent amount of RotMG, it's OK. A lot of the differences are whatever, though I don't really care for the tall 3D objects. Even with the behind-the-wall glow, it's a bit annoying how much it can obstruct, especially 3+ tiles tall. Not sure if you're planning to make it more than a clone, but regardless it seems like a good base.
Played it, it is slightly fun, but does not have a lot in it yet. You have some stiff competition from other aggiepeople when it comes to this genre.
Here is what I would do: You have a cute and simple skybox perspective with some pretty small enemies and characters, use this perspective to create a more unique experience. Really big enemies, not big sprites but perhaps made out of multiple parts, a spider or ant comes to mind. They can be simple looking but have complex movement instead.
Big ass enemy bosses, earth defense force style.
Otherwise perhaps go full wizardry, cooking your own spells, making potions or something like that.
There can only be one rotmg-inspired game in the jam, sorry. It's just too niche of a genre
Nah I lie. I can tell this is very basic but setting up MP is a triumph in it's own right (I should know). Check out GotAD Remastered (in this jam) when you get the chance, would like to get feedback from a fellow rotmg chad.
Thanks for playing. Yeah there's not a lot going on so far, and there's still a lot of boring netcode and engine stuff that I need to do before I add anything interesting, but I'm glad that the multiplayer seems to be working fine at least. I've always been a gotad fan but I've never left any proper feedback, I will fix this now.
Games should start in a safe area where you can learn the controls (i.e., not being shot by enemies). The camera angle looks bad, maybe make it less steep? it looks fine at 90 degree angles, but isometric is off. Very barebones twin-stick shooter. Might be more fun if the attacks auto-aimed and it was a Vampire Survivors-like.

Also A+ servers, better than the real thing.

Or both.

As a fan of shooters, i actually enjoyed this one a lot.
The sprite work is on point, and the fundamental gameplay already looks solid
I hope you can find a good ost to go along with it!
Thanks!! I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Honestly I'm just happy that you were able to connect and play. Thanks for tying it out.
