I played quite a few times and got 2 of the endings, and died a ton. But it was super fun! I love the ambience and horror you have made here, purely excellent on that front. The scripted events are also awesome and the pacing is fantastic. I love that you can get out of the car and walk the whole way, and some events require a car to spawn monsters so they were conveniently skipped, but most oddly enough you could talk to the man at the end without the car/package and he still accepted it. I ran into a bug every playthrough where dying to a monster and attempting to restart would just have you stuck on the last frame before your death. I also found a way to clip through the ground outside of the gate on foot and walked through the whole map from below, quite interesting that there's a second ground below the ground, but I could not get back up. Loved the monsters and the gun plus reloading mechanic. I hope you figure out what to do with it because it's really great so far.
First of all - BIG props for masterful audio design, I was consistently holding a brick clenched with my anus muscles the whole time. The silent drums in the background are a really nice touch. Leaving the radio turned on while you get out of the car - man, that was so bad for my nerves. I also noticed some other details, like crunching sounds and then a loud "Moo" (shouldn't it be in reverse?).
The graphics are serviceable, I actually really dig the red mist covering everything, that's really neat, adds to the nervouslness. Dunno if the track is randomly generated or you just have multiple maps, but it's also a nice touch, along with some random landmarks along the road. The wendigo running across kinda got me the first time, the "standing in the middle of the road" monster was too on the nose. Loved that the box starts shaking, at first I thought it was the physics, until I started paying attention. Only wish I could've opened it...
In general you have a lot of tiny little details that really bring the game to life. It's awesome. I'm no horror fan and I'm easily spooked, but I really liked the experience.
People have already mentioned, but there are a lot of bugs. Mouse not being properly bound to the window, bad respawn after monster death. I will mention only one thing - after a couple of runs I started figuring out the scripting for the encounters, so the spooks were not as effective (I was still nervous due to ambient sounds, that's how effective they are).
Anyway. It's a really, really cool game you have here. Needs a lot of polish, obviously, but I hope you stick to it and don't abandon it.
Thanks, appreciate the feedback and stream. I think the core idea is good but I wasn't sure where else to take the game beyond a scripted short narrative. Might return to this game down the line and flesh it into a more procedural and open-ended experience.
I was hyped for this one from the atmosphere, but it was a bit too jank to play. Note that I was playing via wine, so my issues may not actually be issues on a normal setup…
- Clipped outside at the beginning and couldnt get back in. Well this is more of a plus, it was kinda fun to walk around on the outside, and I could have just restarted
- If I did wrong inputs on dialogue (I think anything but click), I would be stuck after dialogue end, can only look around, not move
- Monster instagibbed me getting outa the car and then I couldnt even get back into menu
The buildup with the monsters, as you see them appearing while driving, is nice. But I felt the game was a bit too much trial and error. Like on my final death, I would’ve known next time to get outa the car ASAP else it will be too late. But I was looking at the glowing box of course… Maybe it also works to just stay in the car? I wonder what happens then. But in any case it would be another run, and then maybe die to the next surprise. For my personal taste, it’s not wrong for a game like this to be more walking simulator than shooter, it has some cool lore, I can enjoy that on its own. Anyway, keep it up! You got cool stuff in this game.
Just watched it, yeah there's a lot of polish to go. Most likely will abandon this game since I can't think of making it anything beyond a 10 minute novelty.

So, I see some problems about the presentation
-Tree are all the same, and worst not tall enough, it doesn't feel oppressive enough.
-The stinger when you see the wendigo are too telegraphed
-The radio doesn't reactivate when I turn the car back on
-The driving section are kinda boring, need more work on the landscape
-It feel like these 9999 scary youtuber game
-Car doesn't feel responsive enough
-You don't need to open the trunk to get the pump
It need more work on the atmosphere to feel oppressive
Stopped when The big wendigo appeared just in front of the car because it was too much "bouhou be afraid"
Didn't think about that with the trees, that's a good point.
brimstone did a playthrough, and there are honestly too many bugs to mention them. you should look up his vod when he uploads it.
the atmosphere of the car and the road is very intriguing, though i would make the whole thing at least slightly less.. red

shame, i genuinely liked the vibe of delivering things with a broken ass car in a doomed hellscape.
