This game looks great and I also really like having to look at the painting to solve those riddles. Personally I thought this game is a bit too long, which can be a problem for horror games. At some point I got over the sweet spot of the darkness effect being scary and felt more annoyed, as looking for clues for the riddles became harder. Maybe cutting two rooms would have helped, but I honestly wouldn't know which one I would cut, as there is a nice build up to them, which might be easily lost. But still, this is a great entry!

Ah, as a side note, for me as a non-native english speaker the last one was a bit harder, as I knew the solution but I had to look up the word for it.

You are completely right about the length. Seriously thought this game would last like 10-15 minutes, how wrong i was haha. Thanks for the feedback though!

*Whenever you enter the wrong solution for four times, the game will provide hints. But i should've brought this down to two or three wrongs.

Genuinely creepy game with a fanastic atmosphere of graphics, sound and *especially* the helplessness of being in a wheelchair. There were also a few nice touches, like the lights, creepy girl, captions etc. that I wouldn't expect in a jam but really sold the ambience and helped immerse me. 11/10, fantastic game

I must admit this is not my type of genre, but you did a very good job with this! There is so much attention to detail in this game. The visual effects making the room a little difficult to see, the wheelchair making it difficult to get around, the lights flickering, creepy sounds of someone gasping behind you, the floor creaking, doors shutting right behind you, people going to art galleries, etc. all wigged me out. I'm also reviewing this at night and all of these details about the game combined make this a game where I can't write this comment without having to look over my shoulder and make sure someone's not in my house. 12/10 creepy, great job! I need to go watch some cat videos and get some chocolate milk or something to chill out after this lol.

It's nighttime where I live and I get scared super easily by games (not movies and stuff though, I think because they aren't interactive). I only got to the third or fourth room before the anticipation of a jump scare just got too much for me, but I'm going to leave my thoughts so far and maybe come back and finish it in the daylight:

  • The main menu is too hard to see. It looks great and it really sells the tone of the game, but I couldn't see what options were on the sides until I turned my monitor's brightness to the max.
  • The wheelchair is SUCH A SMART DESIGN CHOICE. Being mobile, but only somewhat, and with stilted movement that most people aren't used to really feeds into the "absence of action" that lots of horror games rely on. You did a great job making the movement really feel like a wheelchair, too. Excellent work!
  • I'm really happy that you get hints on the monitors after a number of guesses, with it eventually giving you the answer. I almost got stuck on one or two riddles, so this helped me be able to continue
  • I like how the paintings and captions will sometimes change!
  • Why does the building shudder sometimes THAT'S SO CREEPY

I'm always fascinated with game jam horror games because the tone, atmosphere, and gameplay have to be juuust right for it all to work with such a short amount of development time. It's safe to say that you really nailed it!

Game Jams can be very tricky indeed, especially when working on 3d games. Overal happy with the outcome for a four day project. Thank you very much for the detailed feedback!

Amazing work! Genuinely creepy, I loved the movement style and random events. A great thriller and good use of AI art to help the creepyness
