A little slow at first for my taste, for a boss fight I think I'd want it to be a bit more energetic - I feel like once we hit 1:38 we finally get to that. It's a longer loop, so I think if you skipped to the exciting stuff a bit earlier it'd work really well! Nice job overall, the title is fun too :)

Thank you! Yes, indeed, the more I hear the piece and read your feedback, the more I feel the starting parts feel skippable and not suitable for the context. I guess I just listened too many times to Disco Descent and got trapped in the "I will get an exactly 3 minutes long track so cool and with many different parts" loop. Glad you liked the title too!

Nice beat and I liked the melodies. Song maintains a sinister tone throughout. My only minor gripe is that the intro was a little bit too long for my taste (c'mon, I wanna' get necrodancing!).

Developer

Thanks a lot for commenting! Definitely, I also had my doubts if the intro was really necessary.

Groovy vibe! Really like the quick short note stuff on the bass.

It felt to me that you could have some pads/sustained tones on every section like you have at 1:04-1:20 and 1:36-2:08, since with just the staccato bass and lead the other sections feel pretty "hollow" compared to those sections I mentioned. This is just how I felt while listening to the track.

Nice one!

Thank you so much for the feedback! Yeah, I mostly tend to come up with overly minimalistic pieces :_( After several attempts I couldn't find the right approach to make those sections more juicy without losing their punch, but will keep trying!

Yeah, I struggle with the same stuff. Either I have too much going on in a track, or not enough.

That's why I mentioned the sustained notes/pads, since I've found that even at a barely audible volume a sustained sound working as a pad in the background helps to make a track feel more full/not hollow, even if you don't have a lot of instruments playing.

A friend gave me that tip when he found one of my tracks felt too hollow, and I've found that to be a really good thing to keep in mind when arranging a track.

Thanks a lot for the advice! I will try that for sure, it sounds like a great "less is more" approach.

Another good learning material for Composing and Arranging that I always highly recommend to everyone, are these mini lecture videos by Alan Belkin: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLSntcNF64SVVhPiEzHVIjIP0TvutZhK8J

He uses notation examples in the lectures, but even if you don't really read sheet music that well it's easy to follow along (for example, I'm really bad at reading sheet music😂).

Alan Belkin's lecture videos have taught me A LOT of what I know about composing and arranging music, so I really recommend you or anyone reading this to checking them out if you haven't before, maybe they can help you as much as it they've helped me 😄.

That's an amazing resource. Thanks a million for sharing, man! Already watching the fifth lesson. <3
