Track description | Creative process
This is a submission for "Alternative Soundtrack - music jam #4" wherein participants are tasked with creating an alternative song to Crypt of the Necrodancer's "Coral Riff" boss battle song.
Since the boss is an octopus, I figured it would be fun to give this track a hint of sea shanty while making sure to include electronic instruments and a deep bass since the original uses a bunch of synths.
DAW: FL Studio
VSTs: Audio Imperia Nucleus, EastWest Hollywood Choir, Steven Slate Drums 5.5, Korg M1, Arturia Pigments, FL's stock bass drum.
Plugins: Waves Magma Tubes Stereo, Waves Magma Channel Strip, Guitar Rig 6, Maximus, Fruity Limiter, Balancer, Spreader, Parametric EQ, and Compressor.

Cool cover art that I definitely relate to your track!
I don't think I've ever heard music with pirate vibes with drums and synths used the way you did. Without a doubt very interesting approach. I really liked it!
AWESOME WORK!!
Sounds good! The contrast between the bass line, the kick and the strings sounds me a little out of tempo but maybe could be with that intention. I really like the transitions and the lead parts. good job!
Nice pirate vibes, good ideas with sounds and use of the synths, this is a cool track, maybe it lacks the punchy kick to stay on the beat, but it's a very good track with many original ideas!
Nice! Love the blend in styles and genres you did hear, very groovy!
Love how you were able to make this epic yet sometime stress-building ambiance.
Great sound!
Super cool take with synths and orchestral mix, well done.
honestly now I just want to play a game about cyborg pirates lol, great song!
Me too!
Hell yeah! A sea chanty definitely fits here!!!! It has a nice rythm going, although I sometimes get a little distracted by the triple kick. There is nice variation and tension in the track. Mixing wise I think you overdid the bass a little. Nevertheless an amazing piece!
Thanks for the critique
