I went for a more pirate like vibe unfortunately on a whim that made me lose sight of having a bass in the piece.

As other folks mentioned, a pretty big departure from Crypt of the Necrodancer 😅 that being said, I enjoyed this a lot! I loved the horn line around 0:54. I can definitely see this in a boss fight or maybe some kind of airship battle, it generates a lot of tension and I really like the harmonic progressions and use of dissonance throughout the piece. If I could offer one critique I think sometimes the high strings (specifically at 0:42 and when the loop repeats) get drowned out by the lower voices, you lose some of the otherwise cool effect there.

whoa, this sounds like it could fit into a final fantasy game or idk a marvel movie lol, just something really cinematic! A lot of dead air at the end of the video but incredible song!

Lots of Uematsu vibes here! I think this track doesn't resemble the original soundtrack, but it's a good piece. The mix is a bit confusing in some parts, but it's a very nice boss battle track, even if it doesn't belong much to the game of this jam.

Big ff7 bombing mission vibes on the intro with the piano ostinato and everything 😀.

Really liked the track, but at the section starting at 00:42 the bass register gets a bit too muddy with the tuba? added to double the basses. if its a tuba that's doubling, maybe an alternative could be using a low wind instrument like a bassoon or having the basses switch to pizzicato for the part where the tuba is doubling.

Another thing that I felt would make this fit even better with the gameplay is having more accents on the main beats since Crypt of the Necrodancer is a rhythm based game after all.

Just what things stuck out to me on the first 2 listens, but I'm not that great at orchestration so take those comments with a grain of salt 😅.

Really good job on this!
