Track description | Creative process
For this submission, I decided to create a Ragtime piece, as the original from the soundtrack gave me a similar vibe. I have more experience with this style of music, so the composition process wasn't particularly challenging. As a result, I focused more on harmony, counter melodies, and accompaniment. Choosing the sounds was also straightforward, as I simply modified some synths to achieve the desired effect.

Nice rag, very well written ! Good job on this one, really like the minor modulation at 0:36, gives great contrast. Well done !
Awesome track, well composed, perfect structural balance, it sounds like it come from a ragtime songbook.
And it is a good idea for a shop imo.
Even though I love the constrast that come from the part at 0:36, its maybe unjustified to have such a dark sounding moment in the shop music.
All things considered it would have been even better to turn it into some sort of revisited ragtime by adding unexepected stuff reminding of the mother universe. But as I said to someone who made a straight bossa nova, its not so easy to do such things when deep in the codes of a certain style.
Also for the sound/mixing part, I felt it was a bit robotic for a ragtime, maybe too quiet also.
A very good composition still!
oooh, good ear picking up on the ragtime feel - i noticed that too! you have a really interesting take on it that feels a lot more laid back and whimsical with the instrumentation and interplay of the parts, i like it a lot! the minor counterparts to the theme were also tucked in beautifully into the development w.o overstaying its welcome. nice job!!
I like the contrast between the major and minor sections and also the section that comes after it. It keeps the track interesting! If I could something for the countermelody -- in the major section on the very first note, it is E, which is the same as the melody. If it could be a C instead, then the melody will stand out better.
Fun song that would suite a shopping theme quite well. I liked that you decrescendoed the keys to let the flute melody stand out at 0:36.
