Really like the graphics of this one, although the bubble "powerup" was pretty hard to see. I feel like the level design made this game more unintuitive than it needed to be. Starting the player in a position where they can go left or right without much indication of which is correct can lead to unnecessary frustration. Especially for a first level, there should really only be one obvious solution, so people can get used to the mechanics. It also wasn't intuitive that the spike doesn't kill the player, which could have been communicated by forcing them to walk over it in a first level or something. Overall it's a pretty solid start though.
Cool game. Would love to see it get developed more in the future.
Neat little game! Gorgeous background.
The bubble bouncing physics reminds me of Getting Over It a little bit haha.
Congrats!
Super cute game. All I missed was a way to continue in the same level <3
Graphics are awesome, very cool tilemaps and parallax scrolling, I love this kind of simple concept which can become a tricky puzzle platformer depending on the level design! Just wish I didn't get booted back to the beginning when I die XD
thanks, I'll try to get a bit more out of the concept with maybe one or two additional 'power-ups' and more levels. And yes, something more creative than just putting you back to the title-screen on failure... ;)
Had fun playing it. The graphics are cute. Would have appreciated an extra life and the character controls are janky - especially the friction between vertical walls and the character.
Liked flying and bouncing as a bubble. I didn't like having no feedback about being close to dying before I died--and then I'm thrown back to game start.
yes there is not much in terms of game design. I would consider it a prototype with some elements of a real game (i.e. start and end ;-) ) attached...
Cute little 2d side-scrolling platformer; I love the mechanic with the bubble and that the player is a crustacean ;) I enjoyed playing it through. I am curious to check out your source code, I've been meaning to try out LDTK. I don't think you fit the Combine theme, though.
