Love the look and color choices, and the writing in the tutorial/rules is great. I really like the idea of a rulebook where all the information is there from the start but you need to explore the world to figure out what the rules actually mean or evaluate to.

I really liked the graphics from this game, very well done. I felt a bit confused by moments. I spend a good 5 minutes reading the massive paragraph and I still had some issues understand what to do. The first time that I played, I didn't even realize that this was a car and that I could drive it. After realizing that I could use the car, I never was able to make any points. I tried as hard as I can  but, I was left a bit confused.

Thanks for the feedback!

The rules were in fact somewhat confusing (which was kind of the goal -- the likes of the laws). We were in the process of implementing feedback on actions, but failed to implement feedback for the rewards system :/. We were hoping that the reward system would let you know which bikes were illegal bikes, and which ones weren't, solidifying your comprehension of the rules/laws.

Regardless, I hope you enjoyed your experience, and hopefully you'll get to play our next one :)

I liked the concept and the rules cracked me up. I was annoyed that my fuel was decreasing while reading the instructions but you can refuel right after so that's ok. I had trouble navigating the hover car and I kept getting confused that E is to get in and Left Shift is to get out. The camera angle while driving also made it a little hard to navigate. That said, I like the vibe, the piano is great and I liked knocking into things with my terrible driving lol Also love those trees

Hey there! Thanks for the feedback.

The camera angle was a little janky on purpose to make it "harder" to see too far. Admitedly, the shaders kind of helped in not being able to identify the bikes from afar, and so, that early decision probably could've been revised later on :P.

I'm glad you enjoyed your experience! Thanks again :)

yo the grahpics are hella sick, did you do edge detection?

Developer (1 edit)

Just used this. A normal based edge detection post processing effect. I am going to make my own effect as well now that the jam is over just would have taken too much time to figure out how to do post processing in bevy during the jam. https://github.com/exvacuum/bevy_outline_post_process

Very chill game. I like the music :) I also like how the car is some kind of futuristic hovercraft, hehe. My only issue with it is that it seems to be too wide to be nice to navigate amongst all the lamp posts. That’s probably part of the challenge, but it is a bit frustrating when you get stuck. The art style feels very distinct, good job! I like the thick outlines, it really sets the look apart. I think one thing I would appreciate would be some kind of boost mechanic to spice up the gameplay. I think that could pair up nicely with the janky physics. I’m a big fan of janky physics :D

Hahaha thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it. It was my first game in Bevy (and anything Rust), and I'm happy our janky physics hit the mark.

Also, we couldn't have done it without your contribution to Avian ;)

Kind of buggy but I haven't slept in over 30 hours and am happy with how it turned out. If you want to experience stealing  collecting some illegally placed bicycles and shoving them away somewhere (if you live in the Netherlands you might have already personally experienced the receiving side of this act) then I highly recommend giving it a try, especially if you are willing to tolerate some physics bugs etc. that although sometimes are annoying, sometimes actually add a bit more to the fun. Just to be clear neither of us in the team is Dutch, though I study in the Netherlands and that is where the inspiration came from.

Woaah hahahhahahah, that's like the most funny comment I've seen in a long time hahhaha. Congrats for this game, it's really not easy
