I love the pic of Harold's face lol.
That "bus" level made me go "whoa...". Pretty neat!

First time I died, I swear I switched to dead mode somehow (3rd icon at the bottom of the screen). But ont sure how, and not sure what it did, if anything.
Also, what's happening in the last screenshot? I didn't see that. Is that in the game?

I think I left in a button that enables hard mode (ALT I think). It should only affect the jack-in-the-box type enemies right now.

The last screenshot is just a quick mockup of an enemy and an explanation of the controls, it currently is not in the game.

Thanks for playing!

I know this game wasn't entirely finished to your liking, but I enjoyed the direction it was going! The pixel art and animations were immaculate. The theme was implemented cleverly and I could see it being extended further to other types of enemies that could transform into different things in the various modes. If you continue working on it, I'd be very curious to see how Hard Mode would look!

Developer

Overall, I'm still pretty happy with what I got done as my first attempt in GameMaker. Thanks for playing!

Love the big ol eyes on that fella.  I think this game would benefit from a speed boost.  Both player speed and animations could probably run about 2x faster.  Cool idea to switch difficulty mid game.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try that out and see how it feels!

This is a fun game! I like the idea of switching difficulties mid level. Being able to use the enemies as platforms was clever. Good stuff!

Thank you!
