very nice, a fun twist on a popular genre. i love how you can hit again without waiting for the balls to keep rolling.  good job!

Developer

To be perfectly honest Spacenomad,
it was actually a problem I couldn't quickly overcome .... so I just made it a rule bend  ;)

Thanks for the feedback :)

I love the simplicity of it all and how you took a well understood gameplay and put a twist on it.  Only nitpicking because the game is solid as is just could just some qualify of life improvements.

  1. I did not know you could continues use your shot and did not have to wait for the balls to stop moving before hitting again so that's a nice touch and a cool discovery. Not sure you need to do much here just wanted to point it out
  2. I did not realize there was a shot limit since I was either messing up the shot and the level would restart or I would get each ball in with my first shot. Until I lost a level and noticed that the counter was at the bottom nice an small and blends with the table. I would put big white bold letters with an outline  in the middle of the table are somewhere at top that blaringly states " 3 SHOTS LEFT!" or something like that :D
  3. I kept thinking that the distance between the cue ball and where on the board I clicked also indicates the power at which the ball is hit. I'm sure that does not happen but it might be something to consider.

Overall, nicely done!

Developer

Hi PSG, everything you say is valid.
I think I just had the "less is more" thing in the back of my while making it (plus my own limitations) lol :)
Thanks for your time and input Prodigal.

I always get a kick out of playing pool games and this was nicely done! Took a few attempts to get through the last couple of levels so I'd say for the sake of a jam the difficulty was just right. Physics felt nice and the game was responsive. Good job :)

Well thankyou Loftus :)

Nice game, love the graphics. Can you please play my game.

Very good! Had me busy for a few minutes. I disliked that I couldn't press a restart button when I knew that I messed up and had to wait for the balls to calm down before the game did it automatically.

Developer(+1)

I did have a reset key but it allowed you to keep pressing it and slightly move the mouse in increments till you potted the ball,
so I dumped the idea ... but thinking about it a click button to reset would stop that !
I'll add it to V2 :) .... thanks Voidsay

Super satisfying to play, I love the sound effects, well done!

Developer

Well thankyou Bob :)

Submitted(+1)

It was fun and satisfying to knock the balls in. At first I clicked behind the ball thinking it would move in the opposite direction LOL then I read the instructions... You should definitely put some background music in.

Developer(+1)

Totally agree Xander .... a bit of juke box music,
I might even pop a couple of bikini girls in for good measure :)
Thanks for the input fella

Submitted(+1)

Haha yep - nothing wrong with a couple of bikini girls. :)

Really cool concept, great visuals, and amazing sound effects!

I'd love it if you could maybe check out my game as well (:

Thankyou NivMizzer

Cool game. Would love smooth jazz or soft music in the background while playing. Sound effects were lacking as well. Would love a way to reset the game instead of having to wait for the white ball to stop. Other wise I thought it was a very cool concept!

Developer

Cheers BK,
I do like a bit of Jazz :)
It IS a bit delayed  .. I need to find a better way to assess the shot results, it's a bit of a bodge currently, balls falling down holes in a certain order and what's left on the table ...  wasn't as easy to do as I thought it would be.

What do you think the shortfall on the sounds were ?
Thanks for the input :)

Submitted(+1)

Nice work on this! The gameplay felt smooth and I think a soundtrack would go well with this, as well as quicker resets! Overall, really cool game! :D

I think music would be a good idea too, I think I kept things to a minimum because or the theme really.
Thanks for the input :)

Sounds like a good plan! Thanks for the response! :D

Great job.

Thanks Liam

This was fun! The visuals are simple but effective and the table looks great. I saw you experimented with a cue but I think point and click worked well and was easy and intuitive to play. It would be cool to see more levels perhaps with some obstacles or other challenges to avoid, and quicker reset when you've messed up a level.

Developer

I definitely need to work on those delays Hop,
I didn't want to get too busy because of the theme but I was thinking  maybe the odd ashtray or beer glass as obstacles  for version 2 :)
Thanks for the input
