The game's style and atmosphere are quite nice, but it is definitely too strict on the player.

Everything seems to be done to sanction the slightest slip-up, from the tiny spikes forcing a perfect trajectory after a couple of big ones, to the black wave progressing faster than the character and punishing you for mistakes you made earlier. As others mentioned, the double jumps are not quite working like one would expect either (and only on a descending trajectory, I think ?).

As someone who is still learning how not to frustrate players, I now try to have my games tested as early as possible during development phase, and to make anything new players stumble upon at least slightly easier.

This could still be a very enjoyable game if it was a little more lenient.

Thanks for your comment! Since I hadn't too much time to do the game, I wanted to make it harder so that it wasn't very short. Because of that, maybe it ended being too hard. I'll keep it in mind for my next projects!

It was a nicely explored concept and I liked the game. Unfortunately, I really couldn't beat the yellow level. The double jumps wouldn't work some of the time, so it was really frustrating to get halfway and die from that >.<

Something I'll mention because it didn't feel like you were doing that: You can make a platformer feel like it has much tighter controls by just keeping track of when the player presses the jump button. So basically, you can have a timer for 0.1 seconds-ish and if the player is landing, or if the player had just barely fallen off a ledge, they'll still jump. It's not realistic, but can help with having a better feel.

Anyways, great job with the design and the implementation of the concept in general. I really liked it ^^

Thanks for your opinion! It's true that I double jumps sometimes feel little responsive, but couldn't solve it because of  the time. The trick you mentioned is very interesting and I found that is used in many games. I'll take note of it for my next platformer games^^

I like this game a lot, simple yet beautiful visuals, great sounds! I feel like the black stuff goes too fast, personally I would prefer if it was slower and would not get so close to you

Developer

Thank you for the comment! Maybe I should have made it slower, but I wanted them to be only completed when making zero mistakes.

I feel like the black stuff catches up to you too fast. I don't know if the game even needs it tbh. Really nice game though, nice simple art but nice to look at. Well done :)

Thanks for playing it and for your opinion :D

Ok.. This is good game so far... I raged in second level after like 50 deaths. The double jump felt little responsive sometimes. Too hardcore for me.

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! There are some little bugs like the one you mentioned, but didn't have enough time to fix them :S
