This game has some great ideas. Like others have mentioned, it’s very difficult to control, but I was able to eventually beat the first boss. It’s hard to give feedback because it feels like it was hard to experience the game you intended to make due to some issues I had with the camera (like others mentioned). I like that each element has a different ability.

It’s genuinely cool that you have to swap between elements to mitigate certain attack patterns. I.e you need lightning to jump over the waves of projectiles, you need earth to block the laser, and fire for damage. The ideas are all really solid. There’s a good foundation here, all you have to do is build on it and make some small changes to the controls and you have a really solid game!

Thank you for the feedback!

This was a pretty interesting idea. I beat the boss, and I really liked the music and the light effects on the boss and attacs.

It could use a bit more clarity in the tutorial, a bit of text maybe, explaining things like how you need to step into the corresponding circle to use the special ability of that element. I did have some trouble with the inverted control, you could maybe add an option to toggle it on and off.

Also, the elemental circles can be a bit hard to see if you are looking forward, you could maybe make it so the circle around the element is a different color, that way the player can tell which element a circle is even if you have your camera looking at the boss or the circle is farther away.

Overall, a nice game with a cute feel to it and an interesting exchange mechanic, good job!

Developer

Thanks!
The tutorial is a bit rushed yeah. I didn't notice about the circle. I'm pretty sure the color was supposed to change but maybe I just forgot it, you know sometimes you simply forget stuff.

I'm glad you liked it!

The atmosphere was indeed magical, characters are cute and likeable. I do like the idea of magic swapping and how you limited them to three options for ease of management. As I went on with the game, I noticed the inverted Y, but I managed to go with it because of my wife who is an inverted gamer and sometimes I have to play in her stead lol, but it might be nice to consider an invert toggle for the majority of players. I guess another thing would be to really give the magic swapping more impact/importance, as I found myself not using it too much. I like the shield a lot, but sometimes the boss attacks miss, so I decided to just spam attack to beat the boss. So maybe to refine things; Lightning is just a mobility skill, Fire is just projectile, and Rock is just a shield. Although, maybe allow the player to move/strafe when shield is up. So in total, I really like the idea you came up with, and as all our games do, they need a bit more time to be great. So just keep it up!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

Yeah maybe limiting each one to only one ability might be an option. All the ideas weren't implemented sadly. Fire ability is near useless. The charged shot should have been used against the boss to destroy some sort of magic shield but we ran out of time. Rock not being able to walk while the shield is active was supposed to be the case, but we didn't have any animation for it, so the feature was killed to gain some time.

And yeah, I understand for the camera. I'm not particularly an inverted player, both are fine to me but I wasn't expecting people to have so much trouble. I know we scrapped the options menu but maybe not inverting it should have be easier. I'll check that for my future projects.

Thank you!

I won’t harp on the camera too much as others have mentioned it but yea it definitely detracts from the experience. The aesthetic and character designs have a nice feel to them, very charming. I do like the concept of the character swaps and different moves that balance one another out. The tutorial was a bit tricky mostly cause it didn’t seem like some attacks were working or I was in the wrong character. Overall i think there’s a very good base game here it just needs to lock the mouse to the screen and have some camera settings and its probably almost ready for a full release.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I see how the tutorial isn't working. First it doesn't teach you the refill mechanic, which allow you to use your character ability. And secondly it's a bit too rough. It's the last thing we did for the game. There surely was a better way to do this I'm pretty sure.

Hope you still had some fun!

Cool ideas here but I really wasn't able to deal with the camera, it's inverted by default and too fast to control.

Thank you for the feedback! I'm sorry it was too hard to manage, we had this in mind but couldn't get it right in time.

The 3D models are charming, the controls are a bit confusing, and the camera by far is the area that needs more work or even just a configuration slider. Overall, I can see the potential. Good job! Hope you keep updating it!

Developer

Hey! Thank you for the feedback, sorry if the answer is a bit late I was really busy this week.

The issue with the camera are known, but the character controllrr had to be done in last minute as the dev that was assigned to it left in last minute, forcing me to shift from AI to character. For some reason there was a difference between camera with mouse and with gamepad but I didn't found a perfect balance sadly.

A menu was planned for inverting controls but it was just too late for that.

Hope you still like it!

At first the mechanics are a little complicated, but once you get used to it, it's really cool and fun! Congratulations for the game.

Thank you! It was hard to make an efficient tutorial given the time sadly, I hope it wasn't that hard for you.
