Game's Take on the Theme
The game has you preventing a record player from stopping against a boss. Your only way to attack is by throwing your records like frisbees (spinning) at said boss. However, I only had time to add a single boss rather than the three I wanted.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
I made all of the art, but I used a royalty free channel for the music.

If not, please link to any asset packs or resources used here.

This was pretty exciting to play! I like how the boss throws censored vulgar words at you haha! I also like how timing is the key here. Very well done!

I am a big fan of the retro game sounds, took me all the way back to early 80's games and arcade games.  Big nostalgia kick!  The boss was too difficult for me to figure out how to even damage him, but, this is way not my genre and I bet my gamer husband will be able to figure it out.  He loves games with good music so I'm going to have him take a look.  Do you have to hit the boss to a beat, like Crypt of the Necrodancer?  Because if so, that's even more fun. I'd love to see more bosses if you continue to develop it! (When the jam is over)

Yea I wish I had time to add an actual tutorial or how-to-play section in the game. For the time being, I have a tutorial in the description of the Itch page that shows you the basic controls, health system, scoring, etc.

It doesn't matter if you attack to the beat or not, but doing so will give you extra points

Thanks for the review though!

I did see the tutorial on the Itch page, and it was definitely easier for my hubs to figure out.  He could damage the boss, though we haven't beat him yet!

Boss was a little tough, I thought ducking behind would save me, but then the speakers did something and I died. Great music, i like the retro sound effects, it was fun chucking records at this guys head =D

Thanks!

Yea in the description it said that your record player has a health bar as well and will get attacked when you crouch. but thats kinda on me for not adding a how-to-play section in-game lol
