Game's Take on the Theme
The game has you preventing a record player from stopping against a boss. Your only way to attack is by throwing your records like frisbees (spinning) at said boss. However, I only had time to add a single boss rather than the three I wanted.

Did your team make the majority of the art and music during the jam?
I made all of the art, but I used a royalty free channel for the music.

I really like the visuals, the game mechanics are solid and the experience is fun, at the beginning it took me a few tries to fully understand how the game was working but in the end i fully understood and enjoyed it. I rate graphics, control, fun and music the most, but all is cool really, also, if you have some time, please, rate my game too, thanks!!!

I had a lot of fun playing this. I struggled on my first attempt then after that I learnt each of the bosses attacks and was able to beat him which was super satisfying!

A very fun creative idea and nice use of the theme, I liked the art!

Simply incredible! In my opinion, the game did really well in most categories—visual art, music, and boss design. I couldn’t analyze it too deeply because it ended up crashing my PC, so unfortunately, I couldn’t fully enjoy the experience. But from what I saw, and considering what the game sets out to be, it’s really good! If it's not too much to ask, I’d also love for you to check out my game if possible. Thank you so much!

This looks good and controls are responsive.

Boss doesn't seem to comlicated but require some precision and patience.

Not sure if this needs to be over 300 MB though.

Developer

Only reason this is like 300MB is cause I used Unreal Engine to make it

thanks for playing though :)

really fun game and concept here. I wish there was more to play!

Take this, audioPhil! Nice idea, so fun :) But the game launches too long and taking a bit too much HDD space.

Nice music! And those distorted sfx, I have a feeling that I might heard them somewhere in my childhood. Nice late 90s/early 2000 style!

Very fun concept, I like the idea of 2 people getting into an argument about audio equipment and just throwing them at each other.

The game starts off very quickly after getting into the fight which caught me a bit off guard at first, it wasn't always that clear what I should be crouching to avoid or what I should be blocking at the start. Like I tried crouching to cover from the lasers but took damage from it. But I was thinking it'd be aimed at me so if I ducked it would avoid the lasers entirely.

The music is catchy and keeps it from feeling too frustrating after dying. Obviously would have liked to have seen more bosses than just the one but what was there was fun.

Only real issue with the game I found was sometimes I would try and block after getting ready to throw a disc and the block wouldn't come up after pressing right mouse so I'd have to do it again. I imagine this is some sort of trigger issue where it's locking me out from blocking during the throw animation but it feels like I should be able to hit the block input a little earlier in the animation of putting the reel away and have it register.

I look forward to seeing more!

Tricky one but i got it eventually! Nice style and direction! :)

Lots of positives here. Love the artwork, concept, and gameplay a lot. On my first playthrough I died quite a lot, but it was frustrating in the way that made me want to master the controls. When I finally beat him, I was disappointed there weren't more bosses lol. I'd love to see the record player incorporated into the fight somehow or maybe the ability throw the records at things in the environment for power ups. Awesome game!

It's very difficult, but fun :)

Interesting concept.

Please try my duck game and rate it. Love to hear feedback

Great job! This boss has interesting attacks, I'll check this later to see the other two bosses (maybe three!), really curious to see the designs. The music was good but the SFX with the bitcrushed sounds was a bit strange at first, but I can see why they are like that to fit the game's design, but I think they were a bit loud.

Game has interesting style. As well as music - maybe, because i hadn't a chance to listen it since all sfx had (i'm sorry) crappy quality that can hurt your ears. About the gameplay: that was interesting, but sometimes your own table blocks the disks when you throw them in the boss. But I had fun while playing it.

Developer

Thanks for playing :)

Yea the bitcrushed sound effects were intentional. Were they too loud or were they just unpleasant to hear? And also im aware about the whole thing about some of the records getting stuck upon throwing them. I have genuinely zero idea how to fix it ;_;

Maybe change disks collisions from block to overlap. Idk how godot works, but in ue4 and unity you could do that.

Also, could you please rate me back?

Developer

I'll see if I can try to mess with that when i update it, thanks for the suggestion :)

and yea I'll try your game right now i forgot, sorry

The game has so much style! It has a personality and is quite good! The sound design is nice as well.

This game has style. I like when the boss throw the table and immediately shoot the laser and you have to quickly crouch then stand back to deflect, very satisfying to pull off.

I like this game! Took me way too long to figure out that you had to duck when the boss throws a table, but when I got that the gameplay of trying to look for an opening to throw your shots is fun! Also the boss throwing curse words at you is pretty funny

Well, off the bat I really like the styling and think the menu and gameplay both look really neat. I enjoy the music but the audio was a tad repetitive (the bitcrushed sounds). I enjoyed the gameplay loop of defending your vinyl and having to time your shots. This is an awesome game that just needs some more sounds and maybe let you skip the game over and intro for the boss. Thank you for playing my game too!

To be honest this feels like a really polished game, everything fits together and at first I didn't even read the controls and still figured them out alone in a few seconds, so really intuitive. I would have liked to see more bosses, my first thought was that there were too many attacks for a first boss but since there are none afterwards I think you actually did a good job at balancing !
