Nice game, quite fun. It would be nice to somehow know the enemy's HP to prioritize. Also I found the beggining quite a bit hard with such a long reload time. Aside from that, overall a very nice experience!

It's interesting point you make about health bars, I want players to have a feeling of how powerful they are through intuition without bogging them down with information overload. But as you've pointed out not knowing can really sway the outcome of a run. Definitely something to think about after the Jam. Thanks for playing and taking the time to leave feedback. 👍

Yeah I agree that a health bar can overload the UI, but HP could be represented by color, effects, or pretty much anything else!

Nice Game, but i found that reading the text font was a little hard

Thanks for playing and leaving good feedback. Accessibility is important and something I'll look at addressing post jam. I appreciate the kind words.

Died on layer 8, those spiky guys can be tough! Had a lot of fun, really liked the interest mechanic. Good stuff

Developer

Well played! The game is challenging (maybe overly so for a jam game) but depth 8 is impressive. The core of the world / the final level is just after depth 14 so you were well on your way to getting there. Thanks for playing and glad you enjoyed.

Love the graphics and the gameplay feels nicely varied. Also the gameplay occurring in a window adds to the nice arcade feel, which is great. Good job!

Wow, this game is really challenging which I liked, and the theme is used great. I liked the pixelated art style and upgrades. Awesome game mate

Glad you enjoyed, I hope the difficulty wasn't too off-putting, thanks for playing.

Do not worry, making the players suffer in my games is a literal hobby for me
