Really like the visual style and theme of the cardboard! Really unique and great execution on the theme. Gameplay wise there is definitely a good core to it, however I ran into some trouble fairly quickly. I'm not sure if the cave walls are meant to be drilled through or not or if I just needed more upgrades to the drill, but I managed to get stuck with no way to return to the top or reset, which is a shame because otherwise I was enjoying exploring the caves and drilling!

love love love this art style, and the way that you implemented it into even the UI has me speechless. I do think that the controls are a little bit loose and the amount of ore you get for how much you explore is a little bit disappointing, it took me FAR too long to upgrade my gear for the time invested. There were also a few frame drops and performance issues But otherwise a super solid game! A review back would be appreciated!

I love this style. It looks very charming. I did get stuck a few times, but I get that the idea is to be more cautious about how you descend so that you don't get stuck. Overall, really cool entry. Well done.

The paperclip-on-a-string cursor is one of my favorite thing in the jam so far. I found some of the game to be very confusing, I was never able to find any currency to use at the shop and kept getting stuck. It's possible that my drill wasn't strong enough, but that wasn't clearly communicated.

Overall, very cool aesthetic, the cardboard UI and paper-stick jumping are awesome.

Haha the paperclip cursor was really fun to make, glad you like it. There's alot that wasn't communicated due to time shortage, as well as general balancing like ore spawning. The way you get currency is by picking up ore and returning to the platform. Thanks for playing and giving feedback!

Oh that's such a strong concept. The whole cardboard esthetic is really well done, the UI moving with the player is super cool. It's pretty satisfying to pierce through the cardboard and create new paths

I do wish there was a way to quickly go back up though. Maybe I missed something but I easily got stuck down without a strong enough drill and couldn't do anything °°

For a moment I thought I could climb the mouse cursor's rope back up

Congrats!

Developer

Thanks for playing, glad you enjoyed it! There are a lot of game elements not communicated well due to a time shortage, one of these being the challenge of creating paths back to the surface. Thanks for the feedback.
