How does your game fit the theme?
The game is built around a suspicious looking door that is locked with a 4 digit code. The door is not only the player's only escape, but as it turns out, it is also a gate that goes much deeper, beyond the game world itself. The player has to explore and think beyond the game to find what lies behind the door. Which is the main goal of the game — uncovering what's behind the door, and how does it make us feel...

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code (except paid licensed tools I use). I made some of the assets I use in the game (Terrain, SFX edit, few Models...), but because I worked solo on this 3D project, I decided to also make use of free asset packs on the Unity asset store and some models from my friend Robin. So it's a combination of both, specific credits are listed on the itch.io game page.

Great job! Honestly amazing level design as well.

The game is very cool and I like the vibe. I was confused at first how to interact and stuff but I got the hang out of it later on. I like the concept of the game, very good job my guy.  It would be cool if you could check out my game too.

I like the art and the gameplay is simple but takes some time to understand exactly what to do. On my first try, I managed to get everything except for the code for the door. I thought the code in the refrigerator was the code for the door but it's not, I lost after that, and I still don't know what that code in the fridge is for.
I only figured out that I could climb the rock in the middle of the map because of your comment here. I think the game is good, I like the exploration and figuring out what to do just need some UI and better level design.

Developer

Thank you! The code in a fridge is expired code, that some worker left there. It is so the player perhaps puts it in and starts the timer. And needs to play through again. It should be about learning from previous mistakes. I will definitely update the game after the jam and introduce some UI etc. when i have time.

It looks very cool but I don't know what to do and it's really hard to tell with what you can interact.

Thanks for your feedback! :) I am aware the level design isn't really doing the game justice... Players need to take their time with exploration. I tried to work with light and cables a bit. But it was hard to really test everything out with players for the lack of time. Hope you enjoyed it at least a bit :)

*SPOILER*

The base gameplay is that you need to find office key, + a way to power the whole grid, then there's a card you need to find, that is locked in a cabinet in the office (key is somewhere in the office). The card then opens the door (you need to find a card terminal on top of the rock in the center). Then the code gets revealed to you and the game "ends". But if you play it once more (you can see the code and different text in the main menu now), and immediately go input the code after turning on power, you get the true ending.

Very nice game! Has a lot of potential, but I feel like there are some instructions missing, as well as maybe a UI showing what I have collected. The items to collect are also a bit unclear, but very good job for a week's time! Loved the atmosphere and the sound.

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah, unfortunately didn't have much time for testing afterwards, so the instructions for the players are lacking a bit.  I wanted to be a bit more explorative, so I didn't want to tell the player that much, and that's where testing comes in, and the reason why game jam exists. I am glad I participated. Thanks for the rate, I'll make sure to play your entry as well :)
