I really liked this game, and I am proud to provide the 20th rate =)
My main problem with the game was that things were very unreliable. Turrets had quite a bit of spread, and didn't aim perfectly at you (dunno why, but I exploited that to easily beat the boss). Another unreliable thing was boxes, sometimes they'd swivel and rotate and other times they'd behave as expected. Consider locking the rotation of the boxes, or perhaps forcing them to move in a grid. Objects also shouldn't be able to come off of the ground. If you shot a box, it could (sometimes) go up a bit and hit elevated turrets. The isometric view was occasionally annoying but for the most part made for interesting limitations, since you couldn't shoot diagonally.
Overall, the game was really good, if only it were to be more reliable, you could create some awesome puzzles. At the moment, the puzzles feel a tad janky, because the pieces don't always do what you want them to. The art was amazing, and I think the game's thumbnail severely undersells how cool this game is (likely a reason why you've got so few ratings). Congrats on your game, I wish that more people would play it!
Thanks! I'll try to improve my skills untill the next game jam! Now I'll focus on finding the team, bc this game was made only by myself and I didn't have enough time to fix some errors and bugs ;-;
This game is well done. I like the unique artstyle but the pixel character doesn't really match everything else. The lack of music might just be cause you didn't have time but I actually kind of like the feeling of emptiness and aloness that it creates. I've got a few critiques that might help improve your game.
- Shooting with the arrow keys is incredibly awkward and hard to aim. Just make it where you point and click to where you want it to go
-It's hard to judge the players position with the isometric camera angle. Fixing that is really up to you and how you want to go about that.
-The boxes are really hard to move precisely. This goes back to the last point.
-puzzles (as far as I got) Never really evolved past: push a box onto a button. A little more of a mix of variety and complexity would help
-The footstep SFX is a bit jarring. just needs some tuning.
Hope that helps. Good work getting as much done as you did for the jam I'm really impressed! All your game needs is a bit a fine tuning to take it to the next level.
You have a strong aesthetic going on here. The cardinal movement (moving up, down, left and right) vs the isometric layout of the map (how the boxes are kinda laid out diagonally) did make the movement hard for me. If the movement was fixed, I'd say this is a really neat 2D version of Portal as you implemented the mechanics really well. Great job!
Hey, loved your game, loved your music , game design ,a bit of polish and your game will be pretty cool!
All the best and Good luck! Do check out our game we need the feedback! - https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-3/rate/574293

Thanks! I'll check it :D
This game is really good to look at.. The portal mechanic is quite good as well.. I enjoyed playing it a lot...The only problem was with the arrow keys used for making portals..I'm sure you will fix them.. Please do keep working on this game..Kudos!
Also I'd be really happy if you rate my game too..Thanks :)
Thanks!
The aesthetic is pretty neat and the concept is nice. Gameplay wise I think it's just a bit too unpolished. I wish I could just click in the direction I want to shoot a portal instead of messing with the arrow keys and only getting two directions. But otherwise, good job. I'd appreciate it if you would check out my game too :)
I like how the game mixes 2d with 3d. It 's a bit hard to move the objects on the buttons.
Good job on the game, its really fun to play it, i love the puzzles, the portals are a bit weird at some points but its an awesome game, good job!
Keep up the good work!
Game Idea is pretty good, though the aiming could be tweaked a bit. Otherwise the graphics and game play were great!
Thanks!
Found the game Idea quite cool. I really liked the art but sometimes the physics were hard to control (maybe i'm just bad) and the shooting was quite difficult to see where you were aiming. Great job overall though. Keep working hard!
Nice Idea, i got a bit of struggle with the pushing pyshic from the boxes. But overall a great job and a sweet art style. :)
Really cool game I thought! Looks nice, good difficulty curve. I agree that firing with the mouse would be more logical, certainly as the end boss can shoot you whereever you are, makes it tough to aim, but all in all great job! :) Check out my submission too if you get a chance. Thanks :)
Thanks for the comment! I'll definitely check your submission!
Very good portals mechanics. controls are wierd but managable. Good job here.
Nice game! Good implementation of portals. It was fun to play. A restart function would be awesome!
Hey! You can restart by pressing R :)
the game idea very clever,
but you need more working on it.
the sound efect are clearly from a phone mic or somthing so try to fade out the volume by the end of the action. and making holes with arrows is a bad idea, try to learn using mouse instead.
the levels are good but the sistem is stoped when you die but you can still heer the sound of walking.
you can improuv your skills in the future.
good luck
Thanks!
