In what way does your game fit the theme?
You play as a man trapped in a VCR themed purgatory, fighting time to solve a puzzle before the level rewinds itself and you start again
Did you write most of the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
Yes, we did

I love that VHS aesthetics! However, the gameplay is confusing - I don't know when did I find the code or where was the player - it kinda happened by itself. Would love to see you continue the development and make it into a full game because the idea and title of "being sucked into the VCR" sounds really promising!
Your eyecatching thumbnail of a fat man in a skin tight suit got me here.
Oh yeah the game is pretty good too. The voice lines are fun, the visuals are nice and the gameplay works well. I like the remote-gun, and having the game randomize some item placement on new game was a good touch too.
If you want to make the movement feel a bit more natural, I would recommend tweaking the unity first person character. It carries zero momentum in the movement, so it makes it feel a bit odd in a first person shooter type game. It's not really a big problem here or anything, but just thought I'd mention it :)
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad you did mention it! All of the major and minor things we can learn from these jams is one of the greatest reasons we participate. I appreciate it :)
Very cool visual style - the synthwave music worked perfectly too. Controls were very reminiscent of a '90s shooter which was fun too :D
Appreciate the feedback :))
The game felt great to play, the audio and graphics were awesome, good job!
Thank you!
art is nice, sound is nice, mechanics is nice, game is aswm !!!!!!
keep it man or women !!!!
Thanks!
Cool game and aesthetics. I love the synthwave soundtrack too. It's spot on! I also really like having a TV remote instead of a gun- but there was nothing to fire it at? I don't think?
I opened the safe and found what looks like a tape player in the VHS store, but nothing happened. I then ran out of time. I may have been doing something wrong.
Thanks for the feedback! So there is glitch-like enemies that spawn from the black clouds, but their detection system was something that we didn't have enough time to fully work on... Also you likely encountered the bug I've only recently found myself which was that you can only complete the level on the first rewind, if the game rewinds then it breaks the detection that loads the final scene. If you're still keen to check it out then hopefully this helped :)
Damn! This game is so cool. I love the style and the actual game play too. Really made a good story out of it and it feels well put together and fun to play. We found everything but the tape player! lol
Hahah thanks for the feedback, if you've still got it downloaded there is a Q ability that gives you a directional arrow marker in the direction of the tape recorder (at the cost of a few seconds), if you're still keen give this a try!
