In what way does your game fit the theme?
You must find your friends in order to be strong enough to find a way to leave
Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all the code from scratch and modified some asserts collected from itch.io

The concept of controlling four characters at the same time is pretty neat, and fits well the theme! Moreover, I found the graphics pretty nice!
However, I have two issues with the game:
- I had a bug against the last big creature, I couldn't hit it no matter what I did, I even tried to go above it by using the spell of the magician. (Btw I found also another bug, if I try to jump below the bridge made by the magician, and at the same time I'm close to the ground, I hit the bridge with my head => The character gets stuck in jump animation, and can't jump anymore after that)
- The SFX of feedback hit from the monsters was a bit too annoying for my taste.
Overall good job!
Thanks for the feedback. My intention with the boss was to use the spell to draw a slope and make the rocks fall into the boss, but I was running out of time and couldn't really flush out that feature. And yeah, there were quite a few problems with colliders and the characters, by the time I realized it I had to keep it in order to finish the rest of it.
Normally I would write out a long review for each game I play, but lately I haven't had much time to do so. I hope what I said in the video is helpful feedback!
The game was really fun to play and the story and mechanics were fitting very well to the theme of the jam. Nice selection of art assets too, nice old school vibes. Specially the sound fxs of your brother were nice and fun!
Some constructive feedback:
- The story text in the beginning is way too small to be read comfortably and should be bigger - otherwise people maybe miss out on the story :). (keep in mind that there are players out there that might even have sight issues)
- A checkpoint would have been nice too but its only one week so we understand that this is only a lower priority.
- The flying small rocks on the side of the main level (specially at the first elevator) gave the impression that you can land on them and maybe open up some side ways to other parts of the level. We slipped trough them and have been very surprised haha.
Anyway, great project!
All the best, the Wilma & Buddy Team
PS: My brother recorded the sound fxs for our game too haha.
You worked with the jam's theme in a pretty cool way, the game looks great! And I laughted so much the first time I killed a creature, there's a couple of fixes needed, nothing happened when I reached that cristal after the boss, I also struggled a bit before figuring out how to beat him.
Fun concept! I liked your art and audio. I did run into a problem where my strong man fell and I had to go back down to get him but when I hit the ground everything disappeared but I didn't die. So a little broken but still fun!
cool game! it was fun to play!
This sounds so funny.
You've got really good mechanics there. I'd love to see more of it.
Really cool game.
The graphics are probably one of the best pixelart graphics i have seen in a game jam game.
The music is good, but the bat sounds are a bit annoying.
Nevertheless I really had fun playing your game.
The art is great and the sound effects were very funny, some of the characters fall when jumping between platforms, and the elevator doesn´t go back down if you fall so you get softlocked, what I played was pretty cool though, cheers
Wow that artwork just incredible, some of our fellow members fall while moving between platforms and I couldn't beat the boss but that was a really cool experience, had fun!
Pretty good, I was laughing at the sound effects, they're awesome - I agree with a previous post that they are a bit loud in the mix. Had one of the characters fall off a cliff and couldn't get it back - I think it's ok that they have individual movements so that can happen, but maybe it should count that as a death and restart the level. Good work!
First of all loved the sound effect on the bat monster, though it could be a bit quieter. The game plays good, with some places that need fixing like the boulder drifting, some of the characters staying behind. Overall could use some balance but looks like a promising concept. Keep it up!
