In what way does your game fit the theme?
The player and enemies both have the ability to fuse with others like them, which makes them each respectively stronger and more dangerous.

Did you write all the code yourself and made all the assets from scratch?
I wrote all of the code and visual assets. A few are styled from "Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past." The music was written by Kevin MacLeod and is credited in the credits on my game.

Good game but for me it doesn't actually fits the theme... Yeah, if you take more of those white characters it gets bigger... but I don't think the game in its current state its about that because it can be cleared without using this mechanic. I think you need to focus on the theme to make it even more interesting.

I also think level-design could be better if It had some puzzling, go me it felt just like pushing random buttons all along.

Just constructive criticism, of coure. Afterall its very well done, good job!

Some bugs/questions:

- Audio in tutorial earrapes or gets glitchy if you "spam" the enter button.

- If you don't use controller, buttons aren't correct and in keyboard are actually annoying.

- If you get all the weapons on the map, do they respawn? I ended up losing them (I don't know how)

I encorauge you to play my game too! https://undefinido.itch.io/a-tale-for-food

The game looks and sounds great, good job. At first I didn't really know what to do because the tutorial gave wrong keys, but I figured it out.

I'd appreciate if you could rate my game too

Fits theme, looks nice, sounds too, but i've managed to glitch sounds from tutorial, then it ear rape me. Additional there is a solid tutorial, so generally good game)

An fun game! There are some issues, though:

  • The controls in the tutorial don’t match the actual controls
  • It isn’t clear from the tutorial which creatures are friendly and which are enemies
  • There probably should be some kind of cooldown timer for weapons - right now you can use them as often as you like and e.g. kill the strongest enemies simply by using the firestarter 5 times in a second on the tile where the enemy is standing

A nice game overall, good job!

Really interesting concept, though a bit hard to start playing because the controls are not what is said (I have a qwerty keyboard, so maybe it's because of that). The game does look really good!

Developer

Thanks. My recommendation for controls is as follows:

WASD - move

JKL - weapon 1, jump, weapon 2

UO - alternate weapons

It was a fun interesting game, kind of hard to figure out though. Also, I really liked the effect where you would move slower on the grass.

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad someone noticed the grass effect! I wasn't sure if it was going to be noticeable. I was letting scope-creep get me very hard so I cut my game a few days early, so it's not what I hoped it could be. But it gave me some inspiration for a future bigger project I keep tweeking.

I played on my PC and the keys were all different than what the tutorial said. Took me a long time to figure out. K- Jumps, J -interacts/shoots, L- secondary weapon, U- makes a noise? The character moves a bit too slow. The art is good.

Developer

Sorry I tried to simply the keys on the instructions below but it may have been confusing. I used generic button names for which buttons do which commands under the "Controls" section. The actual keys you can use are related to the button names in the "Button Options" section. U isn't just making a noise. It lets you alternate between your first weapon.

Will definitely the speed into consideration for the future. Thank you about the art.
