In what way does your game fit the theme?
The goal is to gather your friends in the level and get to the end without bursting into flames.
Your ghost friends will help you by providing extra survivability and speed.

This game was great!

The realm switching mechanic was fun to shift in and out of, and the platforming itself was also fun and pretty challenging.

The few suggestions I have would be to for sure add some sort of checkpoint system, as the game got a little frustrating at times, and maybe let the player switch/cancel out of the ethereal realm, instead of having to wait the 5 second every time.

Overall the game was fun and well designed, sucks that the upload messed up.

Thanks so much!

Yeah we've heard that before about the canceling of the ethereal realm, will consider it for sure :).

Neat concept, would love to see more of it fleshed out!

I had a bit of an issue where it seemed like the mines' hitboxes were too big, and while the levels were quite small, having to restart them with no checkpoints did feel like it slowed the game down a bit, particularly with having to wait for some of the platforms.

Thanks so much for reviewing :)

Will have a look at the hitbox of the mines. They were intentionally a bit larger since they're a kind of proximity mine, but I guess that's not quite clear for the player. So maybe we can add some kind of forcefield effect or so :D

Cool game! I liked the central mechanic of being able to see things when you're in ethereal form, reminds me of the part with the moai heads in mario odyssey. A few points of feedback:

- The mine hitboxes need to be toned down considerably, I was not expecting them to kill me when I wasn't even visually touching the mine

- The first time that you introduce lava, you also teach me that I can go into the ethereal realm to avoid getting killed by it. This isn't the case, so you should make it so there is a pathway that appears through the lava but there are parts of it that can still kill you. That way you don't falsely teach the player that they can go into the ethereal realm to avoid damage from lava.

- Would be nice to be able to cancel ethereal early rather than have it last 5 seconds every time.

Overall good game! I like the central mechanic

You certainly have valid points, we'll see if we can implement these soon, since they shouldn't be hard to change.

  • Mines were intentionally supplied with a larger hitbox, but some clear communication to player would avoid that issue I suppose
  • We'll make it a path, indeed. Thanks for the great suggestion
  • Seems like a useful feature indeed. Might make some areas faster to complete as well.

I dont think there is any issue with having the mine hitboxes as big as they are, the visual model just needs to be scaled up so that it's the same size or bigger than the hitbox!
