How does you game fit the theme?
Storywise and with some gameplay features.
Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
We wrote all the code by ourselves, but we used assets for background and floor tiles, and for audios.

i liked the concept of the game and never seen such a game like it before. but didn't liked the graphics as much. If you polished it and added better graphics and added another mechanics i can really see that game turn into a full release.
Also Thats my game, dont forget to rate it and leave a review https://swordy7.itch.io/reality-hunter
Thanks for your comment, we'll check your games out too

Thanks for your comment! Also I'll check your game out later today.
Hey!
First of all, congrats on submitting your game! I really loved the concept of it, the fact that you can take and place platforms, to be honest I've never seen something like that before. The art was a little bit inconsistent but other that that I would say this is a solid entry, with great art, music, gameplay and game design.
Some improvements will be awesome but nonetheless, great game! Congrats!
I would love to have you playing mine too, if you don't mind of course! ^_^
Thank you for your comment, we are glad you liked it. I will definitely try your game.
Ducks are my favourite!!!!!! Yaaayyyy
I enjoyed playing, good game :)
Thank Youu!🥰🐥
You've got some very aggressive fall damage coupled with the slippery character made some of the levels harder than they otherwise needed to be, but being able to relocate your platforms opens up to a whole lot more level and puzzle options.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. We will complete them all in our next versions. We wish we could do it before Game Jam.
The gorilla spooke a lot haha, was epic!
Then I'll be harsh, but the first part was hard to be a tutorial, I would like it more if a hadn't have to see the intro over and over again if a die xd
I really like the music you used, and how the game works over all i run into a few bugs, but it was fine for a jam :D !
Good luck with the jam, and keep it up with the development!
Thanks for your comment!
Really great concept! I did run into a few bugs. First, after I would die, I would sometimes spawn backwards, meaning the walk animation was backwards and the collider used for picking up platforms would be backwards. Second, when I would pick up platform objects, sometimes I would get multiple or sometimes I wouldn't get as many as I picked up, which made for some difficult situations. A few suggestions beyond that: I noticed the fall induced death was a bit inconsistent. I also felt it was a bit sensitive overall. When I would fall off of a platform not too far from the ground I died, then on the other extreme, I noticed that one of the big falls in the 3rd or 4th level would result in no death, which is where I felt the inconsistency the most. Also, after that, I was curious how you're supposed to get to the door after the spikes on that level? I had picked up the cushion piece but I didn't think I'd be able to place it effectively. Were you supposed to place it half way down? Maybe with the cushions you could add a rigidbody so that they can't be stuck anywhere, but would need a platform under them if needed halfway but otherwise they would fall into place if you have a drop to jump down. Just a suggestion. I really liked that you could place platforms wherever you wanted though. Also, a few more accessible platforms in that 3rd/4th level would be nice. Another quality of life thing would be to have more checkpoints too, but I know that's always a tough feature for a jam game. Overall though I had a lot of fun playing and I thought the main game mechanic was really inventive! I don't know that I've played too many platformers where you get to pave your way like that. Thanks for sharing your game with me on discord! It was a pleasure to play it and with a little more polish I think it could be a truly awesome game! Keep it up!
P.S. Oh, also! I loved your character! The buff chicken is legendary!
Actually on level 3 the platform you fall to was a platform type that prevents fall damage, that's probably why you could pass the level, you should've used it on all of the free falls too, if there is a bug that prevents you from dying after a fall, it is my fault and, I'd fix it if I'd know. About the stack counts, I think the problem is not the how many times it is added to the inventory, the numbers get updated a little late and that should be all the problem. Thanks a lot for comment, we plan to polish or remake the game after the jam. I'm glad you had fun
Cool concept! The game definitely has potential!
I think if you polished a bit on the control and UI side it will be really cool!
Great work!
Thanks for your comment! We plan to do a remake in a few months.
Cool game ^^ If you polished it a bit you could have a nice fun platformer! Few ideas:
- I think that the player should be able to pick up the platforms while standing up on them, that feels more natural.
- The distance threshold at which the chick dies when falling to the ground is a a bit too short, it was a bit frustrating, maybe adding an indicator of when you're gonna die or not, would be a good idea ^^
Good luck, the game has lots of potential !
Thanks a lot for your comment! You're absolutely right about all your points, we plan to remake the game in a few months and publish a better, polished version.
Controls felt a bit awkward and challenging. I kinda felt left all alone with it. Also, you put the keyboard input keys panel on the otherside so I couldn't see which button to press. Other than that, I like the idea and resource management aspect.
We thought that the dialog at the start would be enough for you to understand how to pass the first level, if you had troubles you always can check our gameplay video on the game page :3
I liked the idea. It was very fun concept! Refine the controls a bit and I see there is a lot of potential for a very entertaining puzzle game.
Thank you so much for seeing the potential, that made us happy 🥰
This is definitely a unique concept of a platformer, where you basically build your own level while doing resource management as the same time. Though the controls for picking up platforms dont feel intuitive. You need your character to be facing the platform to pick them up, and im not sure why the character moonwalks (bug?) so you have to move backwards from the platform to pick it up.
Since there is already an input using mouse to place platforms, you should be able to right click to pick up targeted platforms. There can also be an indicator that clamps from the character, showing the max range of where you can pick up platforms (and maybe only make it so that you can pick and place platforms while you are grounded so its still a puzzle game rather than being able to pick and spawn platforms between your jumps).
Theres also a bug where you can randomly super jump, which is both exploitable but also feelsbad when you die from fall damage from your own jump.
Thank you very much for your comments. We will definitely take these into account and we will fix our game in this way in the future. Also, unfortunately, we have bugs such as moonwalk or jumping problems(because of colliders). We couldn't make it to GameJam, but we will fix these bugs on our future version.
Also, we liked the gameplay you suggested to pick the platform, we will probably rearrange it this way. Thanks again so much.
Loved the idea of your game really enjoyed playing it :)
Great job !
Thank you! Glad you had fun.
As others already pointed out, the core mechanics are interesting. I like the art too. One thing that caused me trouble was picking the platforms: it seems like the character needs to face the platform, but still it was hard to know every time if I get the platform or not. I believe that making the platform less frustrating to pick would be a big improvement.
Thank you for your comment. As you mentioned, picking platform mechanics could have been made more improved.
The style and the story are very well done had a lot of fun playing
Thank you! ☺️
damn i really liked the story
the controls also felt satisfying
great job guys👍
thanks!🥰
Very cool game. Unique mechanics that are very versatile and can be used in a number of ways. I feel like all of the levels can be solved in multiple ways. The graphics are also nice I especially like the buff monkey in the beginning (Buff monkey lore?). The only thing I would like to point out is how long the levels are maybe have a few check points or just shorter levels.
Overall big cool game!
Thanks for your comment! Actually we two developers (unknowingly) finished the episodes in different ways at the testing period, and you are totally right about the checkpoints when we thought of that we had no time to implement such a system we even couldn't fix a bug at the very beginning of the game.
That is very understandable because of the inventory system which could make it hard to save.
pretty fun idea!
Thanks for your comment.
I think while things could be more clearly explained, It is a very cool concept of placing as you go in a platformer-style game. Very cool and I like the concept!
Thanks for your comment.
We couldn't think about a proper tutorial.
I get that, I completely understand what you mean
the game is good but one thing i have to say is the platforms are difficult of put
Thanks for your comment, I didn't get what is difficult exactly
