Thanks waguu07! Great suggestion! Love the pressure plate puzzle and platforming idea.

That was fun! I loved the way things changed as you delivered the packages. I did feel like the platforming was a bit glitchy, I was able to spam jump up buildings (I wasn't able to actually get on top with that method, but just a glitch to be aware of). I also was unable to get that final package unfortunately. I tried going a few different routes, but the one that was the most clear to me was pretty tough due to the power box being a bit too small for me to leap to the next building. But the art style was really cool, and the gameplay was fun! With a few tweaks to the platforming mechanics it would make this game even better. Good stuff!
Love that the game had an alien theme included! So fun! The twists were really good. Loved the dynamic gameplay from stage to stage. I think the alien level could have used maybe a little more variety within it though. I found myself holding down the shoot button and walking back and forth dodging the bullets fairly effectively. If some platforming was brought in too that would make for a decent challenge with all the aliens shooting at you. Also, the music was a bit loud, not sure if that was a WebGL thing, I've been noticing that in some WebGL games specifically. Might be something to look into. Overall though, really great game!
I absolutely get that for sure! Well, just in case I'm not able to join for whatever reason here's a clue for the first code: You're looking for two words with a space in the middle. Unscramble the cans to make the words. Hope that helps! I'll still try to be there for your stream though, I'd love to hear how you guys like the rest of the game :)
Super solid entry! It was a real challenge too! Loved the simple look and animation of the game, and the mechanics were really fun. I only ran into a few bugs where I was on top of one of the pillars and couldn't jump again for a moment. Clever use of the theme though and really well put together game overall. Good work!
Loved the concept here! Really creative! I also had an issue knowing what to do with the dreams, and at first thought that the inventory was broken since I had gotten items from people and didn't see them in there. Perhaps naming the inventory, "dream inventory" or something could help. Once I saw the description on your page though it helped and I was able to complete it. A lot of the tasks were really intuitive outside the dream mechanic though and it was fun completing the tasks. I did run into a few small issues, one was the ability to collect things only worked when I was hitting the down arrow. And the ability to interact with people didn't always work for me, perhaps the colliders for talking with people could be enlarged a bit? Also, the arrow keys fixed the character to only moving one direction, so when I pushed left and up it would start sending me only one of those directions. It could feel nice to add some diagonal movement possibly. Another thing that might be nice is if the dreams shrunk down a bit more when putting them in the inventory and also shrinking the inventory down a bit. Since you have to place the dreams with the inventory open, I think it might feel a bit better if there was more screen to work with and the inventory didn't take up too much of that space. Also, one really small thing, I might swap out the walking sound, at first it was a little agitating. I did get used to it, but a different sound might give the game more the feel your going for. Again, though overall, this was a really fun game! And the pixel art is really good! Good work!
Really great concept! I did run into a few bugs. First, after I would die, I would sometimes spawn backwards, meaning the walk animation was backwards and the collider used for picking up platforms would be backwards. Second, when I would pick up platform objects, sometimes I would get multiple or sometimes I wouldn't get as many as I picked up, which made for some difficult situations. A few suggestions beyond that: I noticed the fall induced death was a bit inconsistent. I also felt it was a bit sensitive overall. When I would fall off of a platform not too far from the ground I died, then on the other extreme, I noticed that one of the big falls in the 3rd or 4th level would result in no death, which is where I felt the inconsistency the most. Also, after that, I was curious how you're supposed to get to the door after the spikes on that level? I had picked up the cushion piece but I didn't think I'd be able to place it effectively. Were you supposed to place it half way down? Maybe with the cushions you could add a rigidbody so that they can't be stuck anywhere, but would need a platform under them if needed halfway but otherwise they would fall into place if you have a drop to jump down. Just a suggestion. I really liked that you could place platforms wherever you wanted though. Also, a few more accessible platforms in that 3rd/4th level would be nice. Another quality of life thing would be to have more checkpoints too, but I know that's always a tough feature for a jam game. Overall though I had a lot of fun playing and I thought the main game mechanic was really inventive! I don't know that I've played too many platformers where you get to pave your way like that. Thanks for sharing your game with me on discord! It was a pleasure to play it and with a little more polish I think it could be a truly awesome game! Keep it up!
P.S. Oh, also! I loved your character! The buff chicken is legendary!
Thank you Last Angle Studio! Is there anything you might suggest to balance those puzzles? Specifically I’d love to hear any suggestions on adding to that second puzzle. I’m planning on expanding the game, so if you have any thoughts that might break that puzzle up into different rooms or something I’m all ears. I really appreciate the feedback!
Here’s my game: https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-7/rate/142066
LIFE ON EARTH
You wake up at home, or so you think... In this point and click puzzler, it's your job to find clues, solve puzzles, and see if this is in fact life on earth, or something completely out of this world.
This is my first jam, so any feedback would be much appreciated! Thanks!
Loved the art style! The narrator was really interesting, it added a cool dimension to it. I was just a little confused at the end if I had finished the game or not. I was at the dinner scene and I tried to click out thinking the game would have a final moment to button it all up, but it seemed like I couldn't leave. It would have been nice to see a "the end" or some kind of final scene. All-in-all though, I loved the experience. Good job!
Love the concept! This was really fun! The design of the world being in an orb was really cool and clever. When I got to the cat photo level though I couldn't get past the likes to jump the big fence, there were just too many in the way. Also, it felt like some of the fences didn't register as jumped when it seemed like they should have. Overall though, really great game! Good job!
Great atmosphere! The speed of the ghost was on point too. I turned around and snap! He was there, definitely got my blood pumping a bit, haha! The comic book intro was great too. The only thing I ran into was at one point my height changed and it seemed the ghost maybe couldn't detect me? Also, I think there was glitch when I hid in the fridge the first time. I couldn't get out and I had to restart. Apart from the glitches, the only thing I would suggest is having an ending screen that says "you win" or something. I wasn't sure if I had finished it when the white screen came up and then it took me to the main menu. But overall, really fun experience.
The music and graphics were really good and I loved the concept! Three things I might suggest: 1. Add a checkpoint system in the sewers, it was kind of a drag to end up all the way at the beginning when I had made it pretty far. 2. The jump system could be a bit more refined. I think maybe if you had wall jumping that might help, since I ended up needing to use the walls with the double jump to get where I needed to go. 3. I would break up the dialogue screens from one screen to a couple. I loved what you wrote, but it was kind of a lot to have it all up at once. I also loved your response options, super fun. Overall some fun stuff for sure!
That was fun! It was definitely enjoyable shooting the enemies and collecting the gems. I found my way around fairly well for most of the time, but at one point I found myself behind the game area and had collected around 32 gems. I then walked back and glitched back into the wall where the door was. That was actually pretty fun too TBH, but if you're looking to create a more linear experience, I'd suggest making the path a bit more apparent to the player and have it circle the player back to the beginning. Otherwise, again, I had fun playing it! Good stuff :)
