How does you game fit the theme?
The dungeon is in his mind(didnt have time for story sadly, scopecreep is tough)

Did you write all the code and made all the assets from scratch?
I used alot of tutorials but yes, everything is self made! (except for the code monkey utilities i needed for one small piece of code)

An entertaining game, although perhaps it lacks a bit of balance in terms of difficulty. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the reply! I sadly didn't have that much time for balancing, but i'll try and improve it in the next update! :D

Submitted

Overall just balance things out and improve the dashing ability and things should be good.

Developer

Thanks a ton for the reply! I'll work on balancing for the next update :D

That's a very solid first game! I really like the graphics. Background music is also very nice. Regarding feedback: Bullets are not visible (changing ther color to something like yellow would improve their visibility). Other than that, this game is very well made! Great work!

If you have a minute, please check my game too :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks a ton! I'll play it right away! :D

From your submission info I assume it's one of your first projects and for that it's already really impressive.
Good job also including stuff like options and actually having sound which is not a given in jam games.

I haven't read the other comments so I assume most of this feedback you already got:
- very responsive controls
- text system felt a bit janky
- the game is way too hard
- the player bullets are too similar in color to the ground, but the sound helps a bit
- could use more feedback (i.e. a sound effect or screenflash when getting hurt)

Developer

Thanks a ton! It's my first project actually! I will be doing an update after the game jam voting ends and i'll definitely take this all in consideration!

pretty cool! the game is pretty good overall, but i saw on your game page that you want feedback, so here we go!

the bullets had low contrast compared to the floor, meaning they blended in (i didn't really notice the bullets until i looked closely) - the graphics were pretty good overall, but the only problem i saw was the contrast/colors... i would recommend using a limited color pallete (i recommend Aseprite's DW32!), using one can make your game look way better!

there are also some quality-of-life improvements that can be made, for example, your gun shooting automatically when holding down left click - you probably used

Input.GetMouseButtonDown(0);

but, you can easily change it to

Input.GetMouseButton(0);

so that it will automatically shoot again when you have your left click pressed!

overall it's a pretty nice game, good job! :3

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I was already wondering how to implement automatic shooting, that's going to be such an improvement! I'll look into those colour palletes soon!

simple game that fits the theme nc. do you mind rating my game too thanks!

Developer

thanks and of course!

The movement was very responsive. I couldn't really see the bullets flying though.

Either way a good submission for the jam!

Developer

Fair enough, will improve that in my  next game, thanks for the response!

Submitted

I liked the movement in game, but i think you could make shooting mechanic, leveldesign and ui better

Developer

thanks for the feedback!

Pretty art work and the music and sfx fits well.

The only thing i have point out is the fact that the enemies are very annoying, mainly because they push you, however i enjoyed the game!

Developer

Good to know, I'll keep that in mind for my next project!

I liked the drawings very much and it has a fun gameplay

Developer

Thanks a ton!

The dash mechanic is very weird. Because both the camera and the player move instantaneously, it gets confusing where you went. UI showing the cooldown of your abilities could be a great addition. The music and the pixel art were nice, though

Developer

Thanks a ton! I'll keep that stuff in mind for next time! I appreciate the feedback :D

I really enjoyed playing this game, it was a little bit hard to beat it haha

Developer

I'm impressed you stuck with it and beat it!

Game was way too hard until I found the dodge button. Just hard enough when I did find it.

Nice job with the enemy pathing, I liked the boss's stages, and I thought the game controlled quite well. I think you've got a lot of good pieces here to carry forward into your future projects. Congrats on the submission.

Developer

Thanks a ton!

Nice

Graphics are really cool. The game itself is very challenging i would say improving the bullet prefab to look more visible would help as I had trouble seeing the where my shots were going.  Enemy's were well placed I tried just running past them to get to the chests which I couldn't do.

Needs work but for a week deadline not bad at all.

Developer

Thanks a ton! That helps alot, will improve that for version 1.1!

Submitted

I found it a bit too challenging but I enjoyed it.
The enemies look nice and the music fits the game nicely.
Unless you intend for this to be a rage game, I think making the gun shoot faster would make it a bit easier. Depends on what audience you are targeting.

Developer

I'm happy to hear you enjoyed it! I will probably add a difficulty setting in the next update to make it more accessible!

Submitted

I am probably too bad for the game =D! I was just able to get to level 2 but love the art and I really liked the character movement!

Developer

Oh no, i designed the difficulty around my friends (a.k.a playtesters) who are both into these type of games! (And i was planning to make a difficulty setting)
